The Dark Skies Guesthouse is located a short bike ride from the center of Alpine. It offers scenic views of Twin Peaks and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Although close to town it offers a private serene rural setting. Enjoy watching the wildlife pass by your front door - whitetail and blacktail deer, a friendly roadrunner, coveys of quail and a family of foxes are regular visitors.
A queen size bed and two futons provide comfortable sleeping areas for four persons. Dark Skies Guesthouse is simple in decor, clean, well maintained and comfortable. Other furnishings are area "finds" and local photography by your host Alberto is displayed on the walls.
Guests have access to the entire house which consists of a bedroom and kitchen area, a living room area and a bathroom with a washer and dryer at their disposal. WiFi and Roku TV available.
We interact with our guests upon arrival if requested. We are readily available to address any concerns otherwise we respect our guest's right to privacy.
The guesthouse is the perfect central location for visiting Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, Terlingua Ghost Town, Marfa Lights, Fort Davis National Historical Site, McDonald Observatory, Chihuahuan Desert Center and Davis Mountains State Park. The city of Alpine is the home of Sul Ross State University, Museum of the Big Bend, Art Galleries, The Big Bend Ranch Rodeo, Cowboy Poetry Gathering, Art Walk and Viva Big Bend.
This is a non-smoking accommodation. Smoking outside permitted. We are usually under a burn ban designation so dispose of cigarettes only in designated containers.
Private social drinking is acceptable - No partying or events.
