Go back in time to when gold was first discovered in Victoria and stay in what is said to be one of the oldest houses in Melbourne. Build in 1854, just 19 years after Melbourne was settled, you can immerse yourself in Australian history with this early Victorian residence. The colonial home has been preserved to retain its historical charm to how it would have looked over 163 years ago giving you a taste of what life was like in the gold rush an when St Kilda was still farm land.
The 162 year old timber cottage features four bedrooms including a master bedroom with walkin dresser/study, dining room, living room, kitchen, and the added novelty of a fully renovated outdoor bathroom (typical of early Australian houses) with a great shower with plenty of hot water. There is a back courtyard garden and large front garden with plenty of space for the kids to play. The living room has a working fire place and there is a beautiful balcony where you can enjoy breakfast. The house is in a very private setting yet just 5km to the city and surrounded by great transport, restaurants, cafes and shopping.
