Sea Mist is situated near Logans Beach and Hopkins River. This retreat is only 5 minutes drive to the CBD.
Sea Mist Hill Top Retreat is ideal for couples, solo adventurers or business travellers. Offered as a one bedroom apartment, available to have either with the queen or twin share room. Situated on a hill top it overlooks beautiful views. Living room incorporates dinning & lounge area. Small but fully equipped kitchen.
Generous modern bathroom, separate laundry and toilet facilities.


This apartment has a sunny ambience with a true holiday feel. From the allocated parking spot there is an elevated walkway, which leads across a garden and onto a generous elevated deck that runs the length of the apartment. The lounge/dining room and bedrooms all open onto this outdoor living space making it an ideal spot to relax. The Retreat looks out over our extensive garden, Logans Beach Rural Valley below and the golden ocean cliffs highlighted against the Southern Ocean in the distance. There is a very small, but fully equipped, modern kitchen, a built-in laundry, a separate toilet & luxurious bathroom including a spa, which is available for use during the winter months when our tanks are full. There is a large flat section of grass below in front of the apartment, which is a shared space, ideal for playing ball games or hanging out in a hammock.


Set on 2 acres, Sea Mist was purchased as a subdivision in 1998. The garden and house was also designed then and given council approval the following year. The extensive gardens incorporate both design ideas that Edna Walling used and Bill Mollison developed with his Permaculture principals. The gardens were established over a number of years to follow, aiming to be as sustainable as possible.
Although the block has town water connected for most of the year it runs totally on tank water. The waste water is recycled and used on the gardens.
We have an organic orchard and vegetable gardens that use companion planting and sucessive crop rotation. Guest are free to spend time in the garden and pick what is in the garden to use in cooking meals.


I am aways available to help guests with questions and information. Happy to enjoy a chat over a refreshment if I am home, text me to arrange a time if you are keen to have a chat. I am a teacher, artist, an avid gardener and often in the garden.
We will not visit you once you book in unless you initiate interaction. The enjoyment of your stay, including your privacy, is important to us.
Having said that I am happy to drop in and get heating going in the apartment on cool days if you are out late afternoon and would like to come back to a warm space.


I run after school art classes 4 afternoons a week, Monday to Thursday. This means there will be parents dropping off and picking up students at 4:30pm and 6:30pm on these days. Parents park in a separate car-park and do not drive up past the studio apartment at the bottom of the hill. Students will either walk quietly through the garden or in wet weather on the grass below the apartment to and from the art studio.
Although the apartments are self-contained and do not include breakfast, I can provide breakfast on request for a separate charge. There is a breakfast menu in the information booklet provided if you are interested. Breakfast must be ordered by 8 pm the night before. To be considerate of neighbours, with regard to noise and behaviour.
Quiet time after 10 pm and before 8 am.
No parties where people are invited that are not the guests booked in.
No smoking inside the apartment.
No outdoor shoes to be worn inside the apartment
Spa Bath only to be used when water tanks are full which is usually from May until October.
To park in the designated parking spot.
To empty rubbish if the bins is full into the council bins positioned down the front of the property.

Beautiful location and scenic look out! Just a hop and a skip away to catch the whale look out. Kate was very easy to contact at all times and made our stay very easy and home like. We had everything we needed and will definitely be staying again.

Atmospheric and cozy apartment overlooking a spacious view of valley, trees, and sea to the right...great private deck from each room, warm and snug bedroom (but smallish for two), the kitchen we found was too small to cook in...but we enjoyed the verdant garden surrounds, resident kelpie and geese!

Sea Mist Hill Top is in a great location - close enough to town whilst having the feel of being in the country side. We were blessed to see Whales at Logan's beach & would recommend for others

Lovely accomodation close to logans beach. Kate was a fantastic host, easy to reach and great to deal with. Would happily stay again!
