Step back in time to experience the ambiance of the old South by spending time with us in our restored and preserved antebellum farm house. This National Historic Register property is located very conveniently near I-95, yet when you arrive, you are transported almost 200 years into the past. Though the home is 170+ years old, it has all the modern conveniences, and necessities without compromising the historic significance of the house. We look forward to welcoming you here.
The house is a Greek Revival cottage that sits some six feet off the ground. It is a National Historic Register property, and has been called one of the most unique and largest antebellum farm houses in SC. All the rooms have thirteen foot ceilings with large windows. The central hall is over fifty feet long. We take great pains to be sure that the house is comfortable, yet try to hold true to the historic significance of the home.
We would be delighted for you to use our kitchen, entertainment room, living room, and the pool when its open in the summer.
We are both retired so will be around most of the time, likely in our office.
Our pets are three rescue dogs and two rescue cats. The dogs can be rambunctious but are always friendly and welcoming. Since the closest restaurant is five miles or so away, we will provide at least a continental breakfast each morning of your stay.
- This is an old house, so during the winter it can be cold, and in the summer it can be warm in the house. We have three dogs and two cats, all of whom are friendly. We do allow dogs on a contact us first basis. We strongly discourage cats, as our dogs only get along with our cats.
We are retired professionals from the aviation and medical fields. Our passions have always been old houses and travel, so we combine them in the continuing restoration of our antebellum home, and operating a Cruise Planners travel agency to assist people with planning their perfect vacation. We love interacting with nice people, it is always the best part of what we do.
