Madame Christine has been called to Paris and her Soho Atelier is available for the weekend.

Really old time New York artist/milliner loft. This is a rare opportunity to stay in the truly unique environment of an internationally recognized milliner, her living-working loft in downtown Manhattan. This is where the hats have been designed, and made to order for over 35 years. Her couture has appeared in ALL the magazines and on all the best heads.

We will be in the building for the duration of your stay, and available to you at any time.

Not for the faint of heart, this is a fourth floor walkup in one of the few un-gentrified buildings in town.

The host canceled this reservation 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

This space. A piece of art. Just blocks from everything. Cool in the heat. Deep soaking tub. Comfy bed. Full kitchen. Hope to return and stay again!

The home was lovely and I was received with a great deal of care. Joe and his wife were very caring & the apartment was wonderful.

Great space in an easy neighborhood. Don't be fooled by the outside of the (URL HIDDEN) is comfy and pleasant inside the artist's workshop loft. The walk up isn't so bad after you get your luggage up, and we were cozy all week. Joseph was welcoming and available, though we only saw him when we arrived and left. The location is actually really convenient, with subway stations just a couple of blocks in nearly any direction. I would gladly stay here again.

We really enjoyed staying in the loft, it was perfect for what we wanted. When we get back to NYC, we'll definitely be checking to see if it's available during our trip. It is a very unique space in a pretty cool area of the city. being in Chelsea, it's a little less busy than the touristy parts of NYC, but has easy, quick access to the subway system, so it doesn't feel cut-off. Best of both worlds. The owner even left some coffee, muffins, and Prosecco for us, too, making for a very nice 'house warming'. Joe, the gentleman renting the place, is very communicative and helpful. He helped us figure out where to go and when to meet. All in all, staying the loft was a key part of our trip.

Joseph was very communicative ahead of time -- timely, friendly, and accessible -- and emailed us a substantial and helpful list of what the neighborhood has to offer in terms of shopping, provisions, entertainment, and culture. I already knew the neighborhood fairly well (it's a great neighborhood...that's part of why we chose the apartment!) but this was still very helpful. The apartment was magical and exactly as described...we could not have been happier!

Hi Colin, thanks for the generous review. Sorry we didn't get a chance to actually meet--which made it a little tricky writing a review for you. Thanks for the info about the upstairs neighbor. I had heard a hint about her but didn't know it was that serious. I apologize for the inconvenience and if you want to risk staying here again I'll give you a discount. Season's Greetings and Cheers! I have had a handful of Airbnb experiences and Joe hit this out of the park. Joe was very communicative from the first email until the end of the trip when he was there to collect the keys. Every detail was attended to and I felt like a rock star the way he treated my girlfriend and I. On top of all this the loft has a magical ambiance and is cozy and alive ! We were a bit nervous walking into an old nondescript warehouse but we were absolutely giddy when we discovered the apartment at the top of the narrow well-worn stairway. It was like a trip in time to the milliner's living workshop and home. It sure did feel like home to us , in no small part from Joe's warm hospitality. Joe provided local info regarding restaurants and sightseeing suggestions. The neighborhood is awesome with the high-line park and Whitney museum about 20 minute walk away. We felt like we could have spent the whole weekend in the apartment wandering around gazing at the gorgeous hats, chachkis and wall hangings. A selection of Teas and other food and drinks were kindly provided including coffee and a great french press. A tiny weekend will live in our memories for a lifetime. Magical place and host! Thanks Joe !!!!!! Mike and Laura.
