Sweeping ocean views and a backyard! Very nicely upgraded home with a turn key feel and a big comfy couch with views of miles of ocean and Malibu. Smart home features heated bathroom floors, a nest thermostat with central heat, a 60" wall mounted TV, with Directv and AppleTV. The full renovation brought recessed lighting with dimmers to all rooms beautiful and understated marble in a matching gray and white motif. 30 day minimum stay.


The space was very recently renovated and has a great modern design and technology.


Access to 2 beach cruisers and all the beach blankets, chairs, coolers and sports equipment you can use!


As much or as little as you'd like.


The laundry unit and backyard are shared with another unit.

This upper rental unit was well below our expectations, especially for the price. The backyard was muddy and full of dog poop and unusable; the gargage door was broken, making the garage unuseable; the living room sectional was so uncomfortable, dirty and looked like it was from a garage sale; the place was not clean and the kitchen was missing many essential items needed to make meals. Not a good place for kids if your beaching it--it's a 15 min hike downhill to the beach, across a busy Pacific Coast Highway. It is a place that overpromised and under delivered; don't be fooled by the photos of the kitchen counter--we were. The one bathroom was decent, but dusty and not clean. The 2nd bedroom had limited furniture for clothes and no furniture to put your things next to the bed. No chair for the desk, which was essential for us as we had a 31 day rental. Host said he'd reimburse us for the desk chair we purchased, but on the last day of our stay, he reniged and did not reimburse us. Folks in the lower unit smoked pot daily, and the smell from the back yard was disgusting. We let the host know, but it was not remediated. The only airbnb we didn't like, after many stays--is this place.

The garage worked, I remember them using it on one of their last days as guests. Further, there are two separate doors, with access to both from each door so are you saying both doors were broken Beverly or are you really reaching here? After you left, one of the doors was disconnected from it's track and that took all of 5 seconds and a little common sense to fix and I've only seen that thing disconnect when someone pulls the little hanging thing. Thoroughly confused by this, again, a great example of really looking for things. The dogs and the pot smoking are gone along with the nice older gentlemen that used pot for his RA that said you were absolutely rude to him. I take responsibility for the yard and the smell but you can't kick people out in CA, it takes 6 months. I will be buying a nicer couch, this one was IKEA and I bought it because the covers can all be removed and washed. It ended up being a bust of an idea due to a lack of comfort and I'm going to get a big comfy couch. It's a 10 minute walk, 15 minutes to the pier. If you walk really slow it could be 15. It is .52 miles so if it takes you 30 min to walk a mile then I guess it's 15 min. It's a fine place for kids as hundreds of guests can attest. All of my reviews regarding distance are pertinent to this location. One grumpy family w a 16 year old is not a well informed opinion but one compromised data-point. We loved living their with our daughter. Another comment that's a great example of the abysmal people Frank and Beverly are. The "one bathroom was decent" comment is about an extremely nice bathroom. The second bedroom has a night stand, my apologies. I would have gotten one if asked. It has an armoire with plenty of space. It could use some pictures. The home is awesome, we miss living there. We miss the beautiful design, the ocean views and constant breezes. I will refocus my efforts on this beautiful and new rental unit and provide service and amenities deserved or offer partial refunds. As a P.S., Beverly, you say that I didn't do anything about the pot smoking in your rebuttal of my review, but in your review of myself you say they only smoked outside. They used to smoke inside and per your request I asked them to smoke outside and according to your review, they did, so that is entirely misrepresentative. You can't keep it straight between two statements. Also, as is common sense, I can't really tell people not to do legal things in their homes and yet I did for you and he obliged and you are still miserable. You guys thrive on this sort of thing, I could tell, pretty quickly. Not a great way to live, in my opinion.

This top floor of a house, is a really nicely upgraded space. The kitchen is spectacular and fun to cook in. The bed was comfortable, the living room was great with Directv and wifi available. Daniel was attentive and helpful. He tired to address any issues we may have had. A great host once we got into the apartment. The only issue we had was the shared smaller backyard was dominated by the downstairs tenant with 4 dogs, which we were unaware of prior. Along with the downstairs tenant smoking a lot of weed which wasn't great with kids. I recommend this place for people coming to have fun in Hermosa, location is great, views of the ocean are great and it was a good place to stay temporarily while found our house.

It was great having you April! The issues are being addressed and explained better in the description. The house is a short walk to the beach and pier; in my three years of renting the studio at the same location, I don't remember anyone driving unless they needed to unload a lot of beach gear. I do apologize for the weed and these issues will be fixed immediately!

Daniel was a great host and made himself available to me for extra towels that we needed. Great location for walking to the beach and restaurants. The beds were the most comfortable and super for a great night sleep. Beautiful kitchen to cook in! 5 Star
