The truth is that I chose Cindy's AirBnb because it was the most affordable for me. I didn't mind that she didn't have any reviews because I'm someone who has travelled a lot and used to many different kinds of accommodations - so I am a person that is very open-minded with few expectations.
The fact that I arrived with few expectations made it all the most striking how wonderful my stay was! I cannot emphasize enough on here how much I was blown away from my stay with Cindy.
Cindy is someone you truly meet once in a lifetime. She is someone who will feed you part of the dinner she made for herself because you have arrived hungry. She *truly* cares and that is remarkable and a rarity in our modern society. We are far too quick to overlook as a society the power in the small things. We often look to politicians and others to lead the change -- but the difference begins in how we treat each other.
During my stay, Cindy's generosity, authenticity, kindness, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail truly came to the fore. It is this reason more than any other that I highly recommend staying with Cindy. You will feel truly at home and welcome in her home. Cindy was MORE than gracious with sharing her home and making me feel comfortable. With our mutual respectfulness, were able to navigate different schedules (not seeing each other every day), keep communication open via texting, and we placed a lot of trust in each other. I only hope the future guests understand that this AirBnb is also Cindy's home and pay her and her home the proper respect.
Her strong eye for the aesthetically pleasing and unique and excellent taste in decor also really shone through. The room was nicely furnished and very cozy. With the raised bed, and gift basket with soaps, lotion, razor, towels, and goodies (tea biscuits, bagels, english muffins, and lemon fudge - treats and breakfast!!!) Cindy so kindly left for me, I felt like I was living in luxury! It was far more than what I expected at the very reasonable price I paid.
For future guests, if you are a picky person, do not like small dogs, are not okay with interacting with the basement tenants (who are very nice people!), you mind an older bathroom and kitchen that has not yet been renovated, expect tons of luxuries you would get in a hotel -- I would say book your stay in Brockville elsewhere. However, if you want to meet smart, capable, and unique individual who will inspire you with her warmth and move you with her generosity, stay with Cindy. You won't regret it and maybe you'll even end up with a new friend in Brockville! :)
