Vincent was a wonderful host. Our flight arrived very early in the morning, much earlier than the check-in time within the apartment description. We were prepared to wait a few hours, but Vincent arranged to have his mother let us into the apartment earlier. The apartment was tidy, and Vincent even left us a nice welcome gift on the coffee table. In addition, he had a travel guide and a folder of apartment essentials ready for us, with his Wi-Fi pw, his favorite local restaurants by cuisine, and easy directions to the major tourist attractions. The bathroom is a little small, but we expected that in Europe. And the bed was so comfortable, which we didn't realize was a necessity until we were exhausted from walking the beautiful streets of Paris from morning til night. In addition, we really enjoyed the fact that Vincent had Chromecast, so we could watch Netflix during late hours with a nice bottle of wine.
Vincent's communication was wonderful from day 1. We exchanged numerous emails. I even asked if he had basic cookware and spices, since I originally wanted to cook a legit Parisian meal. Although I didn't get to cook, since the restaurants are AMAZING, Vincent's kitchen is fully stocked. He even recently traveled and offered us his exotic spices to use, which we thought was a very sweet gesture. In addition, he mentioned there was a small market 5 minutes from the apartment Sunday mornings. We went to browse since we were curious how the Parisian markets are...and it wasn't small at all! It was very large with the most beautiful meats, seafood, bakery goods, flowers, and more. I highly recommend visiting the market (it's literally right under the La Motte-Picquet–Grenelle subway station) if you are staying on a Sunday.
The location was great, with a beautiful bakery with the best pain au chocolat and (surprisingly) cafe au lait I had during my stay just steps from the apartment. The metro was across from said bakery, which connected with all the major lines. Paris is a very walkable city, but it was very convenient having the metro there. We didn't have to take an Uber once until our last day to leave for the airport. And with that said, an Uber to the CDG airport during non-peak hours was less than 40 minutes. Oh, and it's true that the Eiffel Tower is just minutes within walking distance! We loved walking through Champ de Mars like it was our backyard.
I can't say enough good things about Vincent and his apartment. I'm often particular with my living arrangements, but the apartment exceeded my expectations. It was charming, comfortable, and although we didn't get a chance to meet Vincent in person, he was a delight to work with. You won't be disappointed!
