‘Royal Mile Elegance’ is a stunning 5 Star quality top floor apartment with lovely city views over Edinburgh’s Old Town. Built circa 1820s, it is situated on the historic ‘Johnston Terrace’, off The Royal Mile, literally just a 2 minute walk to the Castle! It comprises 1200 sq ft of luxury accommodation comprising entrance hallway, spacious living room, dining kitchen, 2 double bedrooms (1 kingsize bed and 1 with twin beds) and 2 bathrooms (including en-suite facilities). Wifi and TV included.

A fantastic newly refurbished 2 bed apartment, ‘Royal Mile Elegance’ . Welcome to this stunning 2 bedroom top floor apartment (built circa 1820s) with lovely city views over Edinburgh’s Old Town and towards the Pentland Hills. It is situated on the historic ‘Johnston Terrace’, off The Royal Mile, literally just a 2 minute walk to the Castle Esplanade!

The apartment offers 1200 sq ft of beautifully appointed accommodation that is comfortable for up to 4 guests, comprising an entrance hallway, spacious living room, dining kitchen (with dishwasher and microwave), 2 double bedrooms (1 with kingsize bed and 1 with twin beds) and 2 luxury bathrooms (with heated floors and towel rails) which includes en-suite facilities. There is a separate wc / cloakroom off the hallway. Flatscreen TV and free wifi are included.

As you see from the photos, the apartment is furnished in a relaxed and charming country home style with top quality furnishings and fittings throughout. Features include lovely gas fire in the living room, heated bathroom floors / towel rails and historic features which include lovely cornicing and traditional window shutters.

With stunning views, a prime Old Town location and tasteful decor, Johnston Terrace is the perfect choice for visitors looking for a luxury city break in Edinburgh.

Please note the apartment is situated on the 4th floor and there is no elevator / lift (as is typical of Edinburgh Old Town properties). However, we will meet you and be happy to give you a helping hand with any luggage :)

This apartment is professionally managed by Jason, Kathryn and Eddie of The Festival Partnership who will arrange to 'meet and greet' you on your arrival provide advice and support during your stay.

We also ask that one of the staying guests is at least 25 years of age and if requested upon check in, would politely ask for some verification of name / proof of address (drivers licence, passport and/or copy of utility bill).

Please note : Check-ins after 9pm at night will be £30 extra for the 'meet and greet'

All guests will find a welcome pack detailing all the features, wifi code and workings of the apartment.

Some Rules of the Development: -

a) None of the Guests or anyone permitted in the Building or Flat shall cause a nuisance or disturbance to other residents or neighbours and noise should be kept to a minimum after the hours of 11pm and before 8am.

b) Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere in the apartment.

c) Pets are NOT allowed.

d) Guests should immediately inform the Host of any defects of which they become aware. The Host will use their best efforts to correct any defects as soon as practical.

e) We ask guests to treat the apartment with respect, to wash up all pots / pans, dishes, etc. and place all rubbish in the black bags provided and then place them in the designated containers in the basement of the building.

f) Furniture is not to be moved.

g) No feminine hygiene products may be flushed down the toilets.

h) No fixtures, fittings or contents are to removed from the Flat.

i) Appliances are only to be used for their intended purposes

j) Except for fair wear and tear, the apartment and its contents are to be left in the same condition and place as they were found.

k) Any used cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are to be washed and returned to their storage location.

l) No obstructions are to be left in any of the Building common parts.

m) No dangerous or hazardous goods or materials or anything which may be or become a nuisance or injurious or cause damage to the owners or occupiers of any adjacent or neighbouring premises, is permitted in the Flat or Building.

n) No smoke, grit or noxious or offensive emissions are to be made from the Flat, nor any deleterious matter caused or permitted to enter the drains serving any the Flat.

o) The number of guests is limited to 4 persons maximum.

p) The Host or their agent are not responsible for any loss, injury or damage to any Guest or their property, howsoever caused, arising in any manner out of the let of the apartment or use of the Building facilities.

q) The Guests shall allow the Host access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. The Host shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner.

The flat is amazing. The gas fireplace makes the place unique and especially cosy, and the whole place is newly renovated with high end finishes. It was also an unexpectedly nice touch that the owner put up some Christmas decorations to make the place festive for my family's Christmastime holiday -- it really made it a special stay. The property manager is very responsive and friendly.

I can't say enough nice things about this beautiful apartment in historic old town Edinburgh. The images online are very accurate, although there isn't a way to capture the beauty of the view from the bedroom windows in a photo. We were a family of 4, with two boys aged 16 and 20. The apartment is very spacious, beautifully decorated, warm, and inviting. All appliances were up to date and easy to use. The heater worked well and kept us warm during our week in the end of November. It was wonderful to have breakfast together in the cozy kitchen and spend time in the beautiful livingroom. The bedrooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are very up to date. Again, the photos are completely accurate. The apartment manager, Jason, was was quick to communicate and informative. Calum, the young man who met us and showed us around the apartment, was there when we arrived and very helpful. The whole process was very easy. The location is perfect at the top of the Royal Mile, just around the corner from the castle, and an easy walk to all sights in the historic part of the city. The back of the apartment drops down to Victoria Street, which is why the view out the front of the apartment, which is of the Hub, and the view out the back is so dramatically different. Old Town Edinburgh is so amazing, and it was wonderful to live in the middle of it. One note, the apartment is up 4 long flights of stairs. The good news is, all those stairs mean you will have a fabulous view. Other than the stairs, which might be an issue for some travelers, I would wholeheartedly recommend this apartment to anyone.

The flat could not be more perfect for a short stay in Edinburgh. Scotland in general was a first for all three in our group, and we appreciated the detailed instructions about the apartment itself, medical information if ever needed, and many brochures about restaurants, cafes and attractions. We had beautiful views from both bedrooms and the sitting room. Really, the only negative was the somewhat strenuous walk up and down the four flights of stairs, especially with luggage. In the end, though, we rather appreciated that the stairs compelled us to walk off calories, as well as get in shape for walking around very hilly Edinburgh.

This is a lovely flat near the entry of the Edinburgh castle. And it's very close to the departure point of the Timberbush Tour Company. Jason and his colleague Calum are both very helpful, we have no problem communicating at all. I think I will definitely book this flat next time I travel to Edinburgh.
