We renovated this old Japanese house with an architect by respecting its old wood beams and integrating modern design and comfort. The house is located in a fast changing neighbourhood, that is close to the world famous Sanjusangendo temple, the Kyoto National Museum and so many other places to explore. There are many restaurants, bars and cafes, as well as convenience stores nearby. You might hear the trains as the rail tracks are not far away but this hasn't been a problem for our guests.
The house has two floors and you will rent the whole house.
GROUND FLOOR: A hallway will greet you and give you access to a spacious living room with a beautiful wooden table and modern Eames chairs. Next to the hallway is the first bedroom with a traditional tatami flooring and high ceilings showing you the beautiful old wood beams. At the end of the living space is the kitchen with all the necessary amenities to cook or brew tea and coffee. Next to the kitchen is the walk-in shower made out of visible concrete. A very modern Japanese toilet is situated right next to the bath room.
A beautiful wooden staircase will lead you to the top floor. A big spacious tatami room and a Western-style bed with a mattress awaits you. A small washing room and closet space is also provided. The old wooden beams of the house are visible and provide a special antique atmosphere. Three big windows will provide you with views of the whole neighbourhood.
The entire house is yours!
We try to meet and greet our guests. Once you have settled in, don't hesitate in coordinating with us for a meeting time. This will allow us to get to know each other but also to exchange tips, ideas, and experiences.
The rail tracks are nearby and people who are sensitive to noise might find it to be a little annoying. So far all no guest has complained about it as they are out of the house for most of the day and at night the trains become less frequent.
-Please take out your choose in the entrance.
- No smoking in the house.
