Equidistant between Inverness and Ullapool, this modern apartment adjoins our traditional Croft house and offers a rural retreat and an ideal base for exploring the north and west highlands and in particular, the North Coast 500 Wester Ross routes. It' also a great stop-over for holiday or business travellers to and from northern Scotland or the western isles.
Old on the outside, modern inside, the apartment has its own entrance hall/dining area, underfloor heated wet-room, small but modern galley kitchen and quiet west facing bedroom. French doors from the 'garden room' (your lounge) open onto an extensive lawn area with views up to Ben Wyvis (our local Munroe).
Guests tell us that this is a perfect retreat from their busy days touring or working in the highlands!
Adjoining our Croft house, you have your own Private access and parking - not overlooked by us or any other property.
We'll be here to great you when you arrive.
We're a walk around the house away (if you need us) but won't intrude on your time and space during your stay.
We are 3 miles north west of Garve on the Ullapool road (A835).
Traveling west, we'll be on your left (right if coming south!). The entrance to the Croft is off a long straight stretch of the road so you should see us nestled amongst the fields and trees in time to slow down! There's a Wooden 'Achnaclerach' sign at the drive entrance that takes you down to the house.
Please note that our postcode covers properties over several miles of the A835, so setting your Satnav to our postcode only will take you to Inchbae - 2.6 miles north of us! So, if coming from the south, measure 3 miles from Garve and you've arrived. If coming from the north, carry on past Inchbae......
Both Tesco and Asda do online ordered food deliveries to our area so if you'd like to arrange a delivery with them for your day of arrival (or during you stay) we'd be happy to take it in for you. Just message us with the time you've arranged for delivery. (Please note that frozen storage is currently limited to the icebox in the fridge!)
We are a working Croft, so sorry but no dogs or pets.
The house and grounds are fenced and gated - we would ask that you keep the gate to the apartment closed at all times. (Some of our sheep and native animals would love to get into the house or garden!)
The property is served by a Septic Tank so please: no flushing of hygiene products (just toilet tissue!) or use of strong detergents/chemicals. Ask if you're not sure.
Having worked overseas and then for 20+ years, run my business throughout the UK, I have traveled extensively but increasingly value the time spent working from home and in our local community.
Family, people and place are important to Vera and I and we consider ourselves lucky to enjoy all three in and from our home here in the highlands.
