Stay in this comfy destination pivot point room. Thirty miles to Seattle via I-90 or eastward 20 miles to the unlimited beauty and hiking opportunities of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area! We added a large shop/studio to our home and it includes a bonus bedroom above, fully finished with a 3/4 bath, sitting area and bed, small semi-kitchenette (hotplate, toaster oven, microwave, fridge) and easy access to I-90 west (Seattle) or east (Cascade Mountains). Hosts are very knowledgeable about options in both directions. On the property are one cat named Dr. Jones and one golden retriever named Parker who are friendly and do not go into the Loft. In addition, we have four hens who provide fresh eggs. The location is a quiet residential neighborhood cul-de-sac with low traffic and a pastoral view out back with horses, deer and a fire pit for your enjoyment. The Snoqualmie Valley/John Wayne/Iron Horse trail (no motorized vehicles) runs right past our neighborhood offering scenic bike, hiking or horseback opportunities for many miles in each direction. We are located near a number of whitewater/canoe options on the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. The trailhead of one of the Western Cascades most visited trails, Mt. Si, is located just 2 miles from our house. And many more trailheads are within 15 miles, from easy day hikes to technical climbing. In the winter North Bend is still an easy 20 mile drive to skiing and snowboarding at Snoqualmie Pass. This location, just at the foothills of the Cascades, offers outdoor enthusiasts a blend of experiences yet is close enough to make day trips to Seattle quick and convenient.
The Loft, patio, and screened porch.
We will respect your privacy unless you seek contact or information. The Loft is attached to the house but is quite separate. You may see Joe or Elaine working on a project in the shop/studio, feeding the chickens, maintaining the small pond, or working in the gardens as you come and go.
It may be possible to enjoy a fire at the firepit. Ask us if you are interested and we will help, conditions permitting. It may also be an option to hang out and/or sleep on our screened porch if you are adventurous (summer only in the Pacific NW).
Smoking outside only. Respect our quiet neighborhood and the privacy of our neighbors. If you play an instrument, play it here too. Be aware that our chickens need to be protected from your dog.
Hosts are generous, relaxed and creative people who enjoy the outdoors and the arts. We are dedicated to learning and are both full time teachers. Elaine is also a school counselor. Our home is our paradise and we are open to share this bountiful beauty both here and in our local surroundings be it urban entertainment or mountain adventure.
