This comfortable 1 bedroom (with sleep loft )guest house is located on exquisite Kezar Lake. Get away from it all to enjoy a peaceful lake environment or hiking in the nearby mountains .Paddle, swim, fish, hunt,or simply be!
The Coop is a winterized cabin easy to heat with baseboard or wood stove. This is a cozy cottage - don't bring people you don't like, but ones you want to get to know better! The kitchen and living area are one open space - you can cook, read and talk all together. The loft is accessed by a vertical ladder, and is not appropriate for small children or elders. Three twin beds up there make it a great place for kids. The bathroom is accessed through the downstairs bedroom that has a very comfy queen bed. This is a place to unplug, reconnect and recharge. There are books galore, games and puzzles. There is no internet, and no television. Cell service is sketchy, but there is a working landline.
The whole Coop is yours! The spacious porch is currently enclosed in glass- a great staging area for your adventures. Parking for two vehicles is right in front.
There are kayaks and a canoe available for use, as renters own risk.
It's REALLY hard to find us in the dark! Please try to come during day light hours if you can.
This is a guest house on a shared, one-acre fenced lot. My husband and I live here year round with our 3 friendly dogs and one old kitty. The cottage is private; the beach, lakeside picnic table and fire pit are common spaces. We are available to help you discover the area and recommend activities.
The Coop is a great starting point for a variety of activities. Kayaking and canoing on premises with boats, paddles and pfds to use on the lake. Hunting within walking distance, fishing (almost) right out the door: bass, hornpout, landlocked salmon. It is located on the edge of White Mountain National Forest with hiking opportunities for all levels. The local landtrust maintains numerous nearby properties with well-marked trails. 40 minutes to the outlets of North Conway, and 25 minutes to Bridgton Maine, with drive-in movie theater and a quaint downtown with numerous restaurants and antique stores.
Winter activities are abundant! Snow mobiles are available for rental in nearby Fryeburg,or bring your own. Kezar Lake is 75 feet from the front door. No guarantee of ice conditions, but ice fishing and cross country ski treks can be fun! There is ample opportunity to put on a pair of snowshoes ( 2 pair to borrow ) and enjoy the Maine woods. There is a local land trust area with limited ungroomed trails within walking distance, and our local roads are nice for walking anad checking out old stone walls, tracks of deer and turkey - and moose?. Don't forget your camera!

Our family purchased this property in 1980 and my husband and I had always planned to retire here. We are full time Mainers for the last 2 years and have no regrets! Come join us and our 3 dogs, one old cat - we would love to share this great space with you.
Birding, kayaking, swimming, hiking and walking the local land trust properties are great fun. A trip to Bridgton or North Conway outlets works for rainy days.
