This is a beautiful traditional cycladic house. It is large and spacious, with amazing views of the sea and mountains. The house is lovely and cool, with shuttered windows, a large open plan style, and an amazing outdoor terrace. We spent most of our time at the house on the terrace, with its shaded and open areas. You can see Molos beach and the monastery of Saint Antonio on the hill, which is an inactive volcano. You are surrounded by fields, with goats and sheep, and olive trees. The landscape is spectacular and you really get a sense of the space. The location of the house is superb. The villages of Marmara and Marpissa (nearest supermarket) are less than ten minutes drive away, Piso Livadi ten mins drive away, Parikia is 25 mins, Lefkes is 15-20 mins and Naoussa is 20 mins. You can walk to the beach, where there is a cafe and a taverna, but you really need a vehicle at this location. The east side of the island is beautiful and undeveloped, as it is a protected area. The other big plus point is that the property is hosted by Georgios - a very attentive local man who was friendly and helpful, responding promptly to questions, and generally being great. He gave us a warm welcome with wine and fruit, and was on hand throughout the whole of the trip, even helping us with car hire beforehand (Acropolis car hire at the port of Parikia is highly recommended).
The house itself is nice with three bedrooms, and two of these have balconies. Architecturally it is lovely and in the traditional style. It says it sleeps nine people, but a group of nine would not be comfortable here, as the windows and door are painted closed in one of the bedrooms, which makes the room very hot. There is also not enough cutlery for nine people. The bathroom could do with an upgrade (and the small bathroom isn't usable as the shower and sink taps are broken) and the kitchen needs to be better equipped overall with a kettle, better knives, more saucepans, and storage containers for food (we had a problem with ants in the house, which is apparently typical for properties in semi-rural areas. This would not be a problem if there were storage containers, as the ones in the house have lids and bottoms that don't fit together).
This was the first time that the house was rented out through airbnb, so I expect that these are teething problems, and will be addressed by the owner. We still had a wonderful stay here and we are glad to have chosen this property, and we would recommend it to others. Paros is special - with lovely landscapes, beaches, food and people.
