If you have ever felt the need to immerse yourself in the deep wilderness, here is your opportunity. 450 acres of pristine mature forests over 6 distinct peaks spanning an elevation range of 300 feet. We offer 20-30 km of hiking/biking trails to access this diverse and wild ecosystem. There are 4 wetlands, one river, several creeks and springs and an incredible amount of diverse wildlife in our beautiful eco range. It is not uncommon to hear the howling wolfs in the valley below the cabin.

Our modern four season cabin is located in the heart of our 450 acre land parcel which is surrounded by hundreds of acres of more wilderness. Our space is the outdoors. This is the focus and our listing is for those who love to immerse themselves in the wildest of the wild while having a comfortable home base from which to launch adventures.
This is deep wilderness. We have been lucky enough to hear the wolves through the valleys below the cabin on many occasions.
This is hearty Canadian shield country. Huge mixed hardwood forests mixed with rocky peaks, large open hilltops and wetlands, river, creeks and springs all make up for an extremely diverse ecosystem.
Our trail system makes it all quite accessible, depending on your hiking ability. A good portion of the trails can be accessed by 4 wheel drive vehicle, more by 4 wheeler and bycicle and the most, as some are quite challenging, by foot. The natural land marks and borders makes it easier to orient yourself on the range but we recommend GPS based apps and compass if you plan to venture deep in to the wilderness on or off the trails. There are many beautiful places to see. Some hikes can take more than a day all within the land. We can offer suggestions on hikes and itineraries, even guide through trails, or just leave you to your own adventures. There are a few peaks (including the one in front of the cabin) that have quite steep descents. If you are with young children they should be with you and monitored closely at all times. This is a deep wilderness experience one must remember despite the very comfortable and civilized cabin setting.
The cabin is off the grid so electricity is provided by a moderate solar set up for lights, stereo, usb charging, etc. You will be provided with drinking water, a cooler with ice and firewood for the wood stove if needed. There are a couple of bars cell reception at the cabin so u can usually squeeze text and email through. If you need a faster connection you can always use the wifi down at the main house by the road entrance.
There is a bathroom in the cabin with a modern Swedish made ecotoilet as well as a quaint and well kept outhouse outside of the cabin.
The loft is made for two and is a super cosy spot to sleep. There is also a pull out couch in the main room of the cabin.
The screened in porch is a gem of a place to spend an afternoon/evening have a bbq, have a nap, sleep under the stars.
Oh the stars!!! there is NO light pollution in our night skies. No noise pollution, no light pollution.

The entire range of 6 peaks over a 300 foot vertical drop is yours to explore, ride, climb and adventure around in. You and your party will have exclusive use of the cabin and this entire range. We have 20-35 km (depending on the season) of trails throughout the land. Many kilometers are perfect for mountain biking and range from beginner to expert.
The cabin is just under one km from the main compound and Fierobin Road. If you have a four wheel drive vehicle and some off road experience the cabin is an easy drive up. You can also choose to walk (25 min) to the cabin or we would be happy to shuttle you up in our jeep.

The potential of this facility is vast.
We are open to all kinds of group visits and gatherings. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and proposals regarding your potential stay. We are here to help facilitate your connection and immersion back in to some beautiful wilderness. Feel free to reach out.

Steve's cabin is an incredible place to stay and provides a great escape in a peaceful setting. There's lots of wildlife around and plenty of space to explore and enjoy the scenery. On our last night we made use of the fire pit and we're accompanied by howling wolves and hopping rabbits! Steve is a fantastic host and was extremely accommodating! We had a fantastic trip!

Steve's cabin is a fantastic rustic experience in pristine Canadian wilderness. Once at the cabin, we were struck by the utter silence of being alone in the woods. The views from the lookout were stunning, especially of the moon and stars at night. We woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of howling wolves, audible from our bunk. Who can ask for more than that? Things to be aware of on your trip: • The kitchen is better stocked than most rustic experiences I've had. Don't expect luxury items, but all the necessary pots, pans and working stove were there. Stovetop coffee maker made my morning (we brought our own coffee). Oven did not work on our trip, but we didn't expect to do any baking. • The interior wood burning stove is a bit finicky, but once we got the hang of it it was a great thing to have - even more so during colder months, I'd guess. • ICYMI there is *no* running water. Steve stocks you with large water jugs that run into a single kitchen basin with a drain – this is what you have for hand and face washing as well as dishes, etc. The indoor washroom houses a toilet and hand sanitizer – no water there. There is also an outdoor outhouse, which looks out upon the wilderness vista. IMO a wonderful thing to utilize. But if you're not cool with this situation, you should probably look elsewhere. If you are cool with it, you're in for a treat. Steve himself is a fantastic human being. He hauled our gear up to the cabin in his jeep while we hiked up. When we had an issue with our son, he even went into town for us to get him some medicine. He is a truly lovely individual, and a fantastic host that gingerly keeps the balance between help and privacy. We'll certainly be back again!

Steve's place is wonderful, especially the amazing view over the wetland in the valley and acres of forests. The cabin is well equipped and Steve does everything in his power to make you feel at home. Our highlight was the marvelous night sky with more stars than we had ever seen before! We highly recommend Steve's cabin and are already planning to come back during the winter.

Steve's cottage was exactly the getaway nature retreat we were looking for for Labour Day weekend: remote, beautiful views of the valley, cosy and off-the-grid. Steve is a great host, helpful and accommodating - thank you Steve! Oh, and yes we did hear the wolves howl at night. It was magical.

If you're looking for a idyllic getaway, this is the place for you. Very well situated with a spectacular view, this cabin is lovely. The amenities, though basic, exceeded our expectations. This place is perfect for someone who is not keen to fully commit to the camping experience, but still wants to be close to nature and away from it all. Steve was an amazing host and was very knowledgeable about the trails and surrounding woods. I would highly recommend staying here.

A secluded get away for sure! My partner and I got some deep rest. Steve was very responsive and helpful providing us with everything we needed! One tip: bring mosquito repelent!! Those buggers were thirsty. Other than that be prepared for the real wild. No traffic, amazing stars in the night and animal sightings (we saw a fox!!!).
