Villa Sol Mates is a three bedroom, two bathroom, open air Balinese style home, with beautiful local hard woods throughout. We are located inside the residential beach community of Palmetto Bay that sits on over 150 acres of pure island jungle, full of geckos and iguanas, butterflies, flora and fauna.
Our home was recently renovated both inside and out to provide our guests with a wonderful experience and a restful stay. The bungalow is approximately 1,800 sq-ft with new furnishings throughout, renovated bathrooms, air conditioning in each bedroom, ceiling fans throughout, 48” flat screen TV, washer/dryer, cell phone and more. Our fully equipped kitchen and gas grill allow you to prepare some memorable meals while taking in the sights and sounds of the tropical surroundings. Relax on our screened in porch while taking in the tropical breezes and enjoying breakfast or a glass of wine at sunset.
Our home is just a two minute walk to our expansive white sand beach, community pool, restaurant, bar, dive shop, gift shop, lounge chairs, palapas, dock, and hammocks.
Your stay at Villa Sol Mates gives you access to some of the most beautiful Caribbean waters and the Mesoamerican Reef, the second largest living reef after the Great Barrier Reef of Australia, and the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere. Noted for its diving and snorkeling you will be amazed at the natural beauty and the underwater world that lies just minutes from our door step. The second largest private beach on the island, Palmetto Bay gives our guests an opportunity to relax, explore, and have fun. We do have turtle grass in our water, as we are more of an eco-friendly community, and have chosen to protect our reef...but we also have deep blue pockets along our shoreline, where you can play, swim, or wade.

Electricity is extremely expensive on our island. Please make sure to turn off all fans and lights when you are not in the home and use the A/C for nighttime sleeping only.
Limited Wi-Fi (3G speed) is available in your home for $25 (1 week/2.5GB) or $45 (1 month/5.5 GB). Free Wi-Fi is available in the Restaurant area.
Rates include 19% Honduran tax.
SMOKING - This is a NON SMOKING home. You may smoke anywhere outside. Smoking inside will result in full loss of the security deposit.
PETS – are not allowed.
DAMAGE– A security deposit of $500 is required. This must be received when booking the reservation. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within (7) days of departure, provided the following provisions are met.
- No damage is done to the unit or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear
- Any damage done to the appliances will result in replacement with a new unit.
- Any stains such as blood, makeup, red wine on any bedding or carpets will result in replacement with a new item. Any bleaching of towels or linens with bleach, certain face cleaners, or other items will result in the replacement of a new item. If there are any urine stains or accidents, that will result in a $250 cleaning fee.
- No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay.
- All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in trash bags on the front porch, and soiled dishes are cleaned.
- Please wash and dry all towels the day of your departure.
- Set of keys are left on the kitchen table; set of keys left in lockbox and unit is left locked
- All charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure (restaurant tab, internet)
- No keys, linens, internet stick, phone, or remote controls are lost or damaged. Lost front door key will result in a $300 fee.
- The renter is not evicted by the owner (or representative of the owner), the local law enforcement, or the security company employed by Palmetto Bay Plantation.
- If any damage is done above the security deposit, you are responsible for covering the amount of the damages until they are paid in full.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: The rental rates are for the maximum occupancy indicated in the listing. Having more number of guests, without prior approval will result in loss of the security deposit.
INCLUSIVE FEES – Rates include a one-time linen & towel setup, soaps, and paper products and drinking water. You have access to all common areas, the beach, beach chairs, community pool, dock and hammocks.
NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE – Linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. However, a housekeeper may be available at an additional fee. We ask that bath towels, linens, or any of the houses equipment except the phone and flashlights are not taken from the home. We provide extra beach towels for your use. Please return them to the house. Palmetto provides beach towels at the pool – please leave them there. A cleaning charge of $50 will be deducted from the security deposit if excessive amounts of linens and dishes are left for housekeeping or for any other excessive cleaning like stoves with burnt on food.
RATE CHANGES – Rates subject to change without notice. Once the booking is made the rate is fixed.
FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS – Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.
WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS – Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance.
PARKING – There is ample parking for up to one (1) to two (2) vehicles.
WATER AND SEPTIC – These homes are on wells and septic systems. The mineral content in the water is high. During a drought, the well water may have an odor. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. Drinking water is provided for homes without whole home filtration systems.
AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION - Airport transportation to and from the airport, with a stop at the local grocery stores and fish market is available for $40 each way.
INTERNET – Internet is available for $25 (2.5 GB/1 week) or $45 (5.5 GB/1 month)
AMENITIES PROVIDED - Community pool, local cell phone, all bath and beach towels as well as linens, gas grill, full use of resort amenities, microwave, stove and oven, dedicated management, large ceiling fans, fenced/gated (24 hr. security), soaps and paper products to get you started. Kayaks and Paddleboards may be rented on site.
ELECTRICAL AND APPLIANCE SERVICE – We make every effort to have all the appliances available and in working order. If something isn’t working, you make contact us and we will take care of it as soon as possible. Sometimes parts and replacements are not as readily available on an island. Electrical or mechanical failure of appliances does not constitute cause for cancelation but will be considered with all fairness.
HURRICANE OR STORM POLICY – No refunds will be given unless: - The state or local authorities order mandatory evacuations in a “Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning area and/or - A “mandatory evacuation order has been given for the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning” area of residence of vacationing guest. - The day that the authorities order a mandatory evacuation order in a “Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning” area, we will refund: - Any unused portion of rent from a guest currently registered - Any unused portion of rent from a guest that is scheduled to arrive, and wants to shorten the stay, to come in after the Hurricane Warning is lifted, and - Any advance rents collected or deposited for a reservation that is scheduled to arrive during - “Hurricane Warning” period.
TRAVEL and VACATION RENTAL INSURANCE – We highly recommend all guests purchase travel insurance. All passengers traveling to Roatan must have a valid passport that will not expire at least 6 months after their travel dates.
Neither the owners of the property, or the Property managers, can be held responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners or Property managers are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or otherwise whom they invited to use the premise.
