The hand-scribed and peeled Swedish cope log house is from Frontier Log homes of Corvallis, Montana. It is of dead standing lodge pole pine killed in the Yellowstone Fire of 1988.
The house is a reproduction of a 1750 post house / tavern from York, Maine called Jefferds Tavern. The size and layout of the rooms are exact with the exception of a kitchen being built in the place of the birthing room, and the bathroom taking part of the space that was all pantry.
This house has two Rumford fireplaces on the first floor. The Greatroom fireplace replicates the original cooking fireplace with pot crane and cooking utensils. The second floor master bedroom has a kiva style conventional fireplace with clay totem animal tiles made by an Orcas island artist Crow Creek.
The wide board dining room and stairway paneling is reclaimed from a Minnesota ranch house.
The stairway is railed with diamond and ribbon willow from the Arctic Circle in Alaska. The Great Room is sided in lapped pine wane board milled locally.
The kitchen cabinets and refrigerator case were made by the previous owners from reclaimed Georgia heart pine. All the flooring is reclaimed Douglas Fir from a Washington state lumber drying warehouse.
The propane Garland stove, Rankin Delux chargrill and range hood are restaurant equipment, and the kitchen is built to restaurant code specs.

We will not be close, but we have a local caretaker who can address any immediate needs.
- Do not put any grease or heavy composte waste down the sink. We have a septic system.
-Do not put anything but toilet paper in toilets, as the septic system will get clogged.
-Do not stand, sit, or walk on pool table.
- Use caution around hand railings on the upper barn deck.
- Always be safe around the river, sometimes the current is fast and can be dangerous
