Quang Vo, the manager of Heritage By Night.
I was born i Dong Hoi city, in the north central of Viet Nam. I graduated from University of Foreign Langgues in Da Nang. After graduating, i had worked as a English translator for a mining company in Quang Nam province. My job was good with high salary, competitive working environment.... However, everything has changed to me... Once, i went home for my 5 days vacation, me and some friends organized a cave trip to Phong Nha. We really loved it and it was one of my highlight trip in my life. Undoubtfully, This is place i should be belonged to.
I decided to quit my job in Quang Nam moving to Phong Nha.
At first, I worked as a tourguide for Phong Nha Ke Bang Tourism Center. With my job, i had a lot of fun, went to different places, saw many caves( my favourite), the reason i am here.
Come to stay in my hotel where i am the manager now to share the jungle experiences that i had when i was adventurous, jungle guide; come to share the nature love with me.

The tour we highly recommend
1. Explore 4500 Phong Nha cave by kayaking
Our tour guide(s) will pick up tour participants in between 08:00 and 09:00 AM at Phong Nha town. The tour will start at the boat station which is located at the Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Center’s ticket office. It is highly recommended to have a large breakfast before the pickup time, the kitchen at Heritage By Night Hotel opens at 07:00 AM.
After a short introduction participants will enter a tour van which will take them to another small dock located 10 minutes from the boat station and here they will use a boat to get to the mouth of the Phong Nha Cave.
At the Phong Nha Cave’s boat station every single participant will be equipped with high-quality gear required for successfully exploring the Phong Nha Cave. The assigned tour guide will provide general information about the cave before entering it. Moreover, one of the most crucial things before entering the cave is the safety briefing that will be held after successfully gearing up having checked all the equipment. When everything is approved by the tour guide it’s time to start the exciting day!
On the way in the first two zones of the Phong Nha cave will be passed: The entrance zone & twilight zone. The entrance zone is home to many different animals like birds, fish, snakes, monkeys. Every animal that lives in the sunlight can seek shelter in the entrance zone of the cave. Not far from the mouth of the cave the Twilight zone starts. This is the zone in which the carefully placed artificial lighting system is installed. Grand stalagmite and stalactite formations are beautifully lid up by this system and it creates a spectacular ambiance and vibe. The twilight zone stretches for about 1.2 kilometers and after the last lamp, the dark zone officially starts. This zone is the zone which is not artificially lightened or modified in any way (except for one or two ropes to safely guide visitors descend the slippery rocks).07
After venturing approximately 500 meters into the dark zone the kayaks/boat will be left behind and participants will have to make their way over enormous boulders, narrow passages, and huge stalagmites & stalactites. It’s a game of climbing and descending while our tour guide provides a large amount of interesting information about the Phong Nha Cave. The first hundred meters often leaves our visitors speechless, just being able to look at how enormous some of the formations are. It’s amazingly overwhelming!
After making it through the first kilometer of the dark zone a simple lunch will be served to regain some of the used up energy. Next up it’s time to enter the subterranean river once again, however, this time, participants will have to swim. The temperature of the water is very pleasant and the view is once again spectacular. After swimming approximately 200 meters a sandy beach will be reached and from that point on it will be swimming and walking on the gorgeous beaches that can be found inside the cave. At one point the river current gets stronger and one of the tour guides will span a rope between one side of the river and the other to successfully get participants across.
After 2~4 hours the 4.5km point will be reached, here the participants will be awarded certificates for successfully exploring the Phong Nha cave. After taking pictures with the certificates it’s time to head back to the kayaks/boats. However, the way back seems to be completely different. Although partly the same route will be walked viewing the cave from the other way is completely different. This is also caused by the fact that on the way back participants are usually more confident and now take the time to look up more than watch their step. Another great thing about the way back is that participants will be traveling downstream and the river will carry them down for the largest part of the way.
Back at the kayak/boat there is time to relax and swim before slowly returning to the boat station. However, at this point, the tour is not over! The twilight zone will also be visited including the amazing By Ki chamber where the Cham people have left an inscription that’s over a thousand years old. The twilight zone will be explored by foot and the artificial lighting system will create for another entirely different caving experience. It’s almost like visiting two different caves
2. The national park tour( 8 ladies cave, Ho Chi Minh Trail, Paradise cave, Dark cave)
Participants of the National Park Tour will be picked up at Phong nha town between 08:00 & 09:00 AM, we strongly recommend participants to have breakfast before the pick-up time! Our driver will take the tour van along the Victory 20 Road and stop at various vantage points and history- rich sites such as: Double Mountain (animal rescue zone) and Rock Garden (gorgeous river rapid).
The first highlight of this tour is the Eight Ladies cave, a cave with a lot of history behind it. Eight brave woman have died inside the cave. The tour guide will provide the entire story and tour participants will get the chance to join and perform a real traditional ritual to honor the brave woman!
After the ritual the tour van will drive to the next stop which is the Paradise Cave, the Paradise Cave is located 3 kilometers from the HCM-west trail. The Paradise Cave was first discovered in 2005 by Ho Khanh who also discovered the biggest cave in the world (Son Doong )
After exploring the cave visitors will have the option to take a golf car to the foot of the mountain and climb to the top to see the evergreen forest and perhaps spot some exotic animals!
Participants will get the chance to relax and save up some energy which will be very useful at the next stop…Dark Cave!
Next to Phong Nha, Dark Cave is the most popular tourism site in the area. It was first discovered in 1990 and opened up not long after that. The Dark Cave is the smaller version of the Son Doong Cave. The reason for the name is that there is no artificial light installed inside the cave and with its total length of 6 kilometers it’s nothing but darkness! Moreover, the rocks inside the cave are dark, some gray some black.
In meter double-zip line was built and is now used to enter the cave. The zip-line is the longest zip-line in Vietnam and the Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Center received a Vietnamese Guinness Records award at the beginning of the Quang Binh 2015 Cave Festival which was a big success. During the cave festival a couple of new tours were launched by our company, including the brand new 6 kilometers Dark Cave exploration. This tour takes visitors from the back entrance of the cave (Thuy Cung) all the way to the main entrance of the cave!
The entrance of the Dark Cave is at the opposite river bank from the Zip-Line tower. The beautiful deep blue color of the Chay river will catch your eye while riding the Zip-Line and a short 20 meter swim is required to actually enter the cave after the ride. The cave is home to many lakes, with a water temperature of about 18 degrees. Inside the cave there are many unique things to see and experience! There is a natural mud bath at the end of one of the narrow passages and there are many ancient fossils to be found. The fossils are over a billion years old! And the natural mud bath is very good for the skin, and compared to a mud-bath in a spa this is just a fraction of the price.
Our guides will provide you with more information about the history of the cave while exploring it. After successfully exploring the cave it’s time to take the kayak and paddle back to the boat station. Next to the boat station a smaller zip-line can be found, here participants will be able to actually release themselves in to the water. For those with enough energy, the adventure bridge will be a real challenge. Only a few people make it across every month, the adventure bridge was built during the Quang Binh cave festival and has since then attracted a lot of customers. Dare to try it?
Finally, when all the participants have used up their energy in the water games, it’s time to refuel at the Dark Cave restaurant. Our chefs prepare tasty traditional meals for a very reasonable price and the dining area has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
After exploring many caves and having a lot of fun it’s time to return back to the Phong Nha village. The tour van will take participants back between 16:00 and 17:00. The National Park Tour is a Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Center exclusive tour, therefore we can guarantee a amazing experience! Our tour guides are highly skilled guides with a lot of experience, they speak English and have a lot of knowledge about the park: its history, geology, biodiversity and vegetation.
