Wow, what a surprise this place! Just a 15-25 minute drive up the hill from Patras, is this beauty of a bnb. And one of the few airbnb's that actually offered the last 'b': breakfast! A nice homebaked bread, accompinied by homemade jams, fruits. There was wine from their own produce, water is drinkable from the tap. We were even so lucky to be treated to homebaked chocolate cake from daughter Katerina and zucchini pie from Angeliki. What a treat!
The home is interesting too. The part that's for rent is the part that the family used to spend their summers in. Nowadays it is the guesthouse and this sweet family lives in a beautiful piece of architecture on top of/adjacent to it. The guesthouse part is very cozy and has a great view over the vineyard and fruit garden. A concrete family table in front of the apartment offers a nice place to spend time with your family, shaded by grapeleaves. The view on south Patras and the bay is really splendid. One can also use the family's infinity pool, which is utterly great! Amazing view from the pool, is this place really airbnb? The family are great hosts, friendly and helpful. They speak English quite well and are really keen to make you feel welcome. And we felt really welcome! So the stairs in the house are somewhat steep (mind your head!) and the wifi isn't up yet,... but what a crazy beautiful location, and what a nice family!!! For us, being close to Patras had a practical travelling reason, but one can imagine to use this place as a starting point to go see Delphi, Olympia, dolphins of Patras bay, Korinth, Diakovto-Kalavitra gorge train, Kastria caves.. and so on.
Angeliki and her family made us feel almost like family on a visit, not like just the next tourist. If you can appreciate all of the above, be sure to check in here!!
Town square (5-10 minutes walk) has ok taverna Aristos with sincerely very friendly folk. Patras for all your shoppings.
