The Winner - The condo, the host, the location
The CONDO is new, modern, and very tastefully decorated, and Pascal is a most kind and very helpful HOST. He answered patiently a lot of questions before our booking and arrival.
Pascal also came to the condo and used his time in his capacity as landlord to fill out a long bureaucratic form from Thai Immigration Office for my application for extended visa. Also pointed out places with live-music in Walking Street.
The CONDO has five highlights:
The wi-fi internet is very fast and stable and connects as many appliances as you need. (But I miss a working place for my laptop. My back would soon hurt sitting at the sofa table. Not everybody needs that).
The fine balcony, turns north-west which means no direct sun and therefore agreeable at all times. Really pleasant.
The bathroom, especially the shower cabin, is top notch.
The slick kitchen is now also equipped with cooking utensils (though not all fit together).
On top of that and on top of the building is an immaculate and big swimming pool. Very cool.
Lots of restaurants and shops at the LOCATION. Catering mostly to Russians in their writing. From the location is only 15 minutes downhill walk to Pratumnak Beach. Uphill ca. 25 minutes walk to mainstreet with 'bath-busses’ for Jomtien Beach and Walking Street. Mostly convenient.
But sorry to tell the LOCATION is very noisy outside. Even with the balcony doors closed the noise often is unpleasant. Maybe OK for shorter stays. We were here almost a month.
Traffic is very heavy on nearby main road to Pratumnak Beach, the Night Market and the many hotels, and to and from the city. Many dozens of heavy diesel tourist-busses every day and evening, motorbikes, bath-busses, cars. After midnight more easy.
Often tourist-busses park outside condominium with motor running or tracks and turns.
Animals, from the highly annoying Koel birds with high mating calls, to bull frogs at night, supplemented with barking dogs living outside. And the local rooster crowing up his chickens at 4-5-6 pm.
Adjacent building-site 7 to 7 7 days a week often has big cement lorries coming and going. Fortunately the sounds from building-work are at the other side of the balcony, but goes right to the pool.
The neighbor Night Market plays Russian dum-dum music from 5-6 pm to around 11 pm every night. Not always very high.
If one can stomach the liveliness mentioned The Winner is a great place to be. Anyway the condo and the host are top class.
