An ideal centre for exploring Snowdonia, our mountainside cottage commands wonderful views in all directions. The dark sky at night and the ever changing clouds are amazing. Secluded but not remote it is near the lovely village of Beddgelert with its restaurants and pubs. There are forest trails from the doorstep for walks, riding or mountain bikes. It's so cosy. There is a Morso wood burner, underfloor central heating. a splendid kitchen, comfy beds and with generous windows, it's very light .
Beddgelert is the jewel in the crown of the Snowdonia National Park. The village is a major tourist attraction and has two car parks, several pleasant pubs and restaurants, a mountain bike barn and a railway station on the heritage narrow gauge Welsh Highland Railway.
One of the main advantages of Mountain Magic is that it is close to these attractions but away from the bustling tourists and we can offer amazing peace and tranquility. The cottage is set in a small holding on the side of a mountain and most of the time all you will hear is the sound of the waterfalls, the wind in the trees and bird song.
You could climb several mountains including Snowdon without even using your car. There are forest trails in all directions and we are close to the bridleway the Lon Gwyrfai which goes from Rhyd Ddu to Beddgelert. (Look out for the blue marker posts.)
Unlike many Welsh cottages Mountain Magic has generous windows so you can enjoy the views and it is very light and not overlooked or in a dark valley.
There is a good flat screen smart-TV and the cottage now has its own WiFi. The excellent kitchen has a double oven, microwave oven and a very fast induction hob. There is a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher and of course tea towels, kitchen roll and cleaning materials are provided.
You would be free to roam anywhere on the 10 acres of the small holding (livestock permitting) and you are straight onto hundreds of acres of public forest.
There is plenty of parking in the yard.
Although for check-in we say between 5 and 10pm. If you want to leave luggage earlier or will be arriving very late at night please arrange this in advance.
Generally we are available during your stay and can give advice on things to do, restaurants with good food and places to visit. Any problems can be dealt with quickly.
The cottage has two bedrooms - one with a double bed and in the other we can offer either twin beds or a king size bed. Please let us know which you would prefer two or three days before your stay.
Please note that we have a strict rule not to have more than four people. The site is not suitable for young children due to the stove and other dangers. but we would allow babies. (There isn't a cot.)
In general we want you to have a pleasant stay, so please treat the cottage as your home.

Chris is a retired lecturer and hydrogeologist, his wife Anita is a retired art teacher and trained theatrical designer. We live in a small-holding in the Snowdonia National Park in the Welsh mountains. We are surrounded on three sides by public forest. We enjoy theatre, art, classical music, frequent visits to the sea (about 10 miles away) good company, good food and travel.
