Tucked away on the banks of the River Fal, our secluded, wild location is one of the most unique settings in Cornwall. At the heart of the venue is the Lost Cottage of Penperth. In addition there are 4 individual accommodation pods; the Treehouse, Potting Shed, Hunting Lodge and Boathouse. Set within an ancient oak woodland in a private creek, the scene is wild, creative and peaceful. It is the perfect getaway for big groups, including hen and stag dos, families, friends, corporate and more.
There are 18 beds in total: the Treehouse (Sleeps 2), Potting Shed (4), Boathouse (2), Hunting Lodge (2) and the Cottage (8) with space to sleep up to 22 with futons and sofa beds.
***PLEASE NOTE WINTER SEASON (November - March): Sleeps 10 only in the Cottage, Hunting Lodge and Treehouse.
Our adventurous venue has a large fire pit, grand outdoor feast table, hammock area and pirate bar overlooking the river - perfect for evening sun-downers. There is a fully equipped outdoor kitchen including army oven, electric grill, clay pizza oven and gas hobs. There are male and female toilets, a washing up area, as well as a large versatile barn, with wood burner and indoor seating; perfect for parties, dining, relaxing or extra sleeping space. All this plus acres of woodland to roam and wild swimming in the river. The Fal estuary is also the perfect spot for kayaking, canoeing or fishing if you have your own equipment, or subject to availability, we can contact a local company to take groups out on the river in Canadian Canoes.
Groups have private hire of the whole venue and all its facilities.
There is parking for up to 8 cars in the parking area. Getting to the venue from here is then accessed on foot by a track that runs through a working farm. It takes 10 minutes to walk down and 15 minutes to walk up. Once parked, we will meet you by the car to show you down to the venue.
There will always be someone to help on arrival and a phone call away if there are any problems.
The site is home to Authentic Wild Experience Provider 7th Rise.
We can organise activities such as Foraging, Canoeing, Archery and Bushcraft Survival Skills. Please email us for details.
Whats included at the venue: Gas, firewood, kitchen equipment, plates, cutlery, cups, small fridge (with freezer section big enough for ice only), loo roll, hand soap, washing up liquid, hand towels and drinking water.
The beds all have clean linen, including duvets and pillows.
The site is rustic and communal.
There are currently no shower facilities. We recommend the true wild experience of washing in the river using environmentally-friendly toiletries.
Pack light and bring a backpack and good footwear as the journey up to the car from the site is uphill and can be muddy at times.
All guests are expected to do their own dishes and put away dry dishes in the kitchen where they found them. Please recycle as much as possible.
