Entirely renovated 17th century building, in Strasbourg. Located walking distance (about 300 meters) to the Cathedral, boat tours, shopping, and museums. Two flight walk up, approx. 40 sqM/430 sq.ft.
English, French and German speaking owners live nearby.


While the location is convenient, there are some bars and restaurants in the neighborhood. Since it's a pedestrian zone, there is no traffic noise. By law, the people outside have to quiet down at 10pm and you have the right to contact the police if there is a problem. Obviously this is more of an issue during the warmer months. Generally, the climate here doesn't encourage spending long periods outdoors most of the year.

The entire building is non-smoking. There is no balcony and smokers have to entirely exit the building. Our policy is very strict in this regard. Absolutely no smoking in the apartment, even leaning out a window, in the shower room, etc.

We're very sensitive to cigarette smoke and will be able to tell if someone has smoked in the apartment. If smoking outside will be a problem for you, we strongly urge you to book elsewhere.


This apartment has been entirely designed to accommodate guests. It has never been otherwise occupied. No personal effects are stored. Everything in the kitchen is available to use, including condiments.

With the exception of sheets and towels for future guests and cleaning supplies, everything is for your use (and even those, if something happens!)

If anything goes amiss, something is broken, or for example, if someone gets sick and sheets need to be changed, please let us know as soon as possible. We are only a few minutes away and will want to get things cleaned and fixed as soon as possible. Please don't wait until your departure as there might not be enough time to sort things out before the next guest arrives.

We will not enter the apartment during your stay unless we have cleared it with you first. The only people who will have authority are the two of us, our son, the cleaning lady and a couple of repairmen who have worked for us for many years. We will give notice and give you an approximate time. We shouldn't need to enter the apartment unless there is a problem to be addressed.


We are available and only a few minutes away. Feel free to contact us at any (reasonable) time, even if it's something small. Texting is probably the best method.


The building is located on a pedestrian street and there is no car traffic, except for occasional delivery trucks, etc. early in the morning. Parking is not available but there are several options, depending on your budget, your patience with finding spots on the street and whether you need the car or not during your stay.

If you are only arriving and leaving with your car, I encourage you to use the garage at the Rives de l'Aar Park & Ride tram stop. Strasbourg set up the Park & Ride project to keep cars out of the city center so there are several to serve this purpose. You park your car and you can use the tram ticket that day, for all the passengers in the car, the whole day.

After parking, the trams headed to Lingosheim will all go to Homme de Fer and you can walk to the apartment from there.

If you leave your car overnight, it will cost an additional 10 euros a day for each day.

Depending on where you're arriving from, another Park & Ride might be more convenient but it's the same routine. Depending on the line, take the tram to Grand'Rue or Homme de Fer.

Another even-cheaper parking option is to park in the street near any tram stop and simply buy a normal ticket for the tram. This is for the most adventurous as it means having your car a distance away, in the street. If visiting friends/relatives who can keep an eye on your car, this might work better. Some knowledge of Strasbourg's geography is needed. I park my car in the street near Rotonde station but never overnight.

The Park & Ride option is especially good if you don't need your car while in Strasbourg. You still have access to your car but you simply need to take the tram to get to it.

If you have a lot of passengers and luggage, coming to the apartment first directly might work better. Try to find parking in the street on Rue de l'Ancienne Douane. If not, continue, turn left and head into the garage at Place Gutenberg. You can then unload things and people and the driver can head out again to another garage or however you want to organize parking.

If you do find a place on the street, be sure to check that there aren't any restrictions. There is a tow-away area for a market on Saturday mornings. There are also some delivery-only parking areas (marked with big orange crosses, hard to miss). There is a daycare next to the restaurant which has a drop-off area so don't cause grief to parents. If unsure, don't hesitate to snap a picture of the sign in question and send it to us, especially if you're not fluent in French car-related vocabulary.

Be sure to keep your license, registration and insurance information with you and not in the car in case of a mishap.

I keep parking passes if you do get lucky (with parking). Normally, parking in this zone is restricted to 2 hours, at over 2 euros per hour, between 9am and 7pm. The passes cost 11 euros and are good for all day. The passes look like lottery scratch cards so please don't cancel them until you're sure, sure that you will use it. You can park anywhere in Strasbourg, all zones, with them. Please leave me 11 euros cash for each card you used.

Parking is sometimes better on the other side of the bridge, specifically near the hospital entrance, and it's not that far to walk.

There are also some privately run garages. The closest, already mentioned, is Place Gutenberg which is 40 euros a day. The next two garages closest are Austerlitz and St. Nicolas. There is also parking at the train station and shopping malls but I don't find them more convenient or cheaper. Research it yourself and if you find that they are, please let me know.

Sharon's apartment is bright, spacious and very well equipped. It is central to the Old Town and various sights. Sharon was a wonderful host, quick to communicate and she was very helpful helping us with our onward travel plans after an unexpected cancellation. I would happily stay in the apartment when I return to Strasbourg.

Great accommodation in central position in Strasbourg in pedestrian zone. 2 minutes from Cathedral and 5 minutes from Petite France. The apartment is on second floor, nice, new, clean and with enough space for family.

El apartamento está muy nuevo y amueblado con todo lo necesario, incluso con cuna para bebé si se necesita. Yo me quedé impresionada de la limpieza, el apartamento estaba impecable. La localización excelente. Y Sharon es muy servicial, amable y está siempre disponible por si necesitas algo. Yo he estado allí con dos niños pequeños y me he sentido tan cómoda como en casa. Cien por cien recomendable. No os vais a arrepentir!.

L'appartamento è accogliente e ben arredato. Sorprende, soprattutto, il fatto che sia nel pieno del centro storico, a pochi passi dalla cattedrale. Sharon, la proprietaria, è stata fin dal nostro arrivo disponibile ed ospitale. Da consigliare!

The location of this apartment was superb - only three minutes by foot to the Cathedral and to the centre of town, right in the middle of tourist area. The apartment had everything we needed, cooking utensils, staples, washing machine, etc. Because of its prime location, guests should be aware that it was very noisy all night. The hostess was helpful and gracious and went above and beyond what was actually required of her. Thumbs. up.

I really recommend this apartment. It is in the center of the city and near the train station by tram. Also, it is clean and the onwer is wonderful!

Sharon est adorable, prévenante, et la communication est facile. Nous aurions aimé la rencontrer mais tout s'est fait très naturellement par email / SMS. Sharon est très attentionnée et vous trouverez tout ce qu'il faut dans l'appartement ! Propreté impécable, draps de bain moelleux, chambre agréable, wifi fonactionnant parfaitement, cuisine hyper bien équipée avec du café, des sacs poubelle, salle de douche très accueillante, un sachet de biscuits et du jus de pomme à notre arrivée, que rajouter ? Un petit appartement très agréable où vous vous sentirez comme à la maison. Merci Sharon !

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, I've lived in France since 1996. My husband and three children were born here in Strasbourg.

I was a Flight Attendant for 13 years, working long-haul international for two airlines. I've been to almost 50 countries and have taken some of the tips and tricks from the many places I've stayed to make these apartments the most convenient and comfortable possible.
