Living in the mountains can bring surprises! This listing is only available while we're traveling but I'll be available by text to answer questions and a local manager is on call during your stay.
This home borders open space and federal lands so there are many opportunities to enjoy nature. We ask that you be aware of the hazards of trails, wildlife, old mines, and weather while you visit. We're happy to help you enjoy your stay and will provide suggestions on staying safe. Just ask!
We use natural cleaning supplies and keep allergy triggers to a minimum and avoid artificial scents and harsh chemical cleaners.
Our home is partially off grid so use what you need, conserve what you don't.
-Heat via the furnace is fueled by propane that is trucked in and is both very expensive and inconvenient to run out of. The heat turns down at night.
-We are on well water which is tested for safety. Our septic fields work very well but nothing should go into the toilet unless it comes out of you or is toilet paper. There is a trash can next to the toilet for everything else.
Living in the mountains requires respect for the neighbors, especially the bears. No trash or food may be left unattended outside. We are happy to help store any trash safely. If you have any wildlife safety questions please ask us.
The road in from the main canyon belongs to our town and is used by hikers, bikers, deer, and the dogs of Sunshine. Please drive carefully and 20mph or less.
It is quiet up here and we expect that you are coming up to enjoy that too. We ask that there be no loud music and that loud outside noises be kept to a minimum after dusk.
No fires of any kind, no smoking on the property. This includes electronic cigarette devices as well. Any ignition source requires care as we live in an area that is at high risk of fires.
We ask that our guests please avoid artificial fragrances and strong scents to avoid allergy triggers.

We love living in the mountains and being a part of the community of Sunshine. We have small kids and a dog and are usually around so you'll hear us but we respect your space. If you have questions about traveling in an Airstream, local hiking, or living here please let us know.
