My place is within a family-friendly peaceful environment close to the main tertiary educational compounds of the National University of Samoa and Samoa College, with easy access to public transportation, arts and culture, restaurants and dining facilities in central Apia township. You’ll love my place because of its open outdoor space, family-friendly neighbourhood with safe surroundings. My place is good for couples, business travelers, and families (with kids).
This beautifully built 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home has much to offer. It is located at the end of a private road on a three acre family compound. The home itself sits on a 1/4 acre, fully fenced lot. The three bedrooms with the single beds can each accommodate another mattress on the floor if needed. With these mattresses, the house can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people. It is very quiet and private, except for the early morning roosters, which you will hear wherever you stay on the island. Enjoy your morning coffee/tea and an evening glass of wine or beer on the deck at the front with an ocean view of Apia.
You will have full access to our home. It is your home away from home! There is a convenience store and laundromat on site. Our home has full laundry facilities which you can use, but if you need to pay someone else to wash and fold your laundry while you enjoy your vacation, we highly recommend the Bentin Laundromat on the main road as you enter the compound.
You may be met at the airport with keys and driven to the house, as well as have a car rental arranged for you for SAT$50. Let us know when you confirm your booking.
We are available for any assistance while you are our guests in Samoa.
The home is located at Vaivase on the College Road heading towards Samoa College and the National University of Samoa, within the Bentin Family Compound. You will experience life as a local, staying in a residential area within a Samoan family compound. The level of interaction between us and your party is completely up to you.
We highly recommend a rental car if you plan on exploring the islands (Upolu and Savaii). We can arrange this for you for an extra charge. To add an extra spice to your visit, we highly recommend hopping on the local buses and have an experience that will live with you forever. You can catch any of these right at the front of the compound on the main road. You pay the bus driver when you get to your destination (Apia township) $1.50 (tala, sene) per rider. A local taxi stand (DB Taxi) is also close by (270m), which you can call to pick you up or walk to.

Visiting a tropical island:
The islands are free of major tropical diseases and no vaccinations are required, unless you are arriving from, or transiting through an area infected with yellow fever within 6 days of arrival.
We recommend you purchase bottled water for drinking and if you are going to drink the tap water, boil it first and chill in the fridge ahead of time.
Just like any tropical destination, Samoa has mosquitoes. There is no risk of catching malaria in Samoa, but dengue fever outbreaks have occurred on odd occasions and to keep the mosquitoes at bay, it’s recommended you use a good insect branded repellent.
The Samoa decimal currency is the Tala (dollar) and Sene (cent): 100 Sene = ST$1 (Tala). All major foreign currencies are exchangeable in Samoa.
Samoan Tala can also be purchased outside the country from a few selected banks, however you will need to check with your bank if you can order some before you depart.
Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners & JCB) are widely accepted in the major hotels, restaurants and stores. Travelers cheques are also widely accepted at major banks and hotels.
Every visitor to Samoa who wishes to rent a vehicle must apply for a Temporary Drivers Licence, which costs $20 tala for one month and $40 tala for two months.
In order to qualify for this, you must have a full Drivers Licence from your country of origin. You will not be issued a Temporary Drivers License if you have a Learners, Restricted or Provisional Drivers Licence.
You may obtain a Temporary Drivers License at your Rental Car Agency or at the Land Transport Agency in Vaitele.
Staying connected with family and friends, and maybe sharing a status update or photos of your Samoan stay by (Hidden by Airbnb) or Instagram is easy with eight broadband internet cafes to be found around Apia and one on the island of Savai'i. Major hotels and resorts also offer internet terminals for guests in their business centers. WiFi is also available at many locations.
There are two main telecommunications providers in Samoa: Digicel and Bluesky Samoa. Both providers offer extensive coverage. Prepaid SIM cards are available at Faleolo International Airport and at outlets in Apia.
Just like its Pacific neighbours, Samoa’s climate is tropical and warm all year round. Light summer clothing is appropriate all year round. As Samoa has a strong cultural structure and Christian faith, tourists are asked not to wear bathing suits in Apia or in villages.
Tipping is not practised or expected in Samoa. However, if a guest wishes to leave a gift for good service then you are welcome to do so directly with the employee.
