This charming century 3 bedroom home is in the heart of beautiful Sambro, a scenic fishing village just 20 minutes outside of historic Halifax, close to hiking trails and a beach, and a boat ride away from the famous Sambro Island Lighthouse, the oldest continually operating lighthouse in the Americas.
Whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, with friends or family, let this home away from home be your relaxing oasis.
This home could also be ideal for small workshops/retreats.
The only thing you need to bring is your food and clothing, everything else is provided for you. Dishes, pots and pans, utensils, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, kettle and linens are all included. We have some games, books and DVDs on site for young and old. A barbeque, outdoor table and chairs are on the wraparound deck surrounding two sides of the house
All three bedrooms in this home are upstairs. There is a bathroom on the main level and one upstairs on the second level.
You will have full access to the entire house with the exception of a locked storage closet. You will not have access to the garage.
Whenever possible, the host will stop by during the first few hours of the guests' arrival to personally meet and answer any questions. Guests will have privacy but the host lives nearby and can respond to any questions.
This house is on a water cistern so we ask that guests be mindful of their water usage and not leave taps running. The house also runs on a septic system so please do not flush chemicals, paper towels, feminine hygiene products or other foreign objects down the toilets.
Pets are not allowed on the premises.
No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the house. Guests may smoke on the deck if they use the sand filled pot (or "butt bucket") on the deck. Guests may not throw their butts on the lawn or in the driveway.
This home is in a quaint fishing village. There are other houses around, including our own. If you are looking for a place to throw a loud wild party this is not the property for you. If you are looking for a relaxing oasis, a place to unwind and reflect, spend quality time with friends and family, a home base for scenic travels within the province, you've struck gold!
There is no daily housekeeping service. Linens and bath towels are provided in the home. For extended stays, Guests will be provided with clean towels and sheets once a week.
At the end of your stay, before leaving the home, please ensure it is in the same condition as when you arrived. Wash and thoroughly dry your dishes and put them away in the cupboards. Deposit all waste in the appropriate receptacles. Nova Scotia has a great waste management program. Guides on how to separate waste, recyclables and garbage are provided for your reference. Please follow the guidelines. Failure to clean up or sort your waste may result in a partial loss of your security deposit.
