'Treetoppen' is the Norwegian name for my 11m2 treehouse situated in the forest. An overnight stay is a fantastic and different experience, a far cry from the hustle and bustle of city life. Wild birds and animals can be seen right outside the door. Hiking possibilities and a lake for fishing with a small boat are within close proximity to the cabin. Perfect for lone travellers, couples, friends, or small families who would like to 'get away from it all'.
The cabin is up in the trees on a small hill in Heskjadalen so a fear of heights is not recommended! It was built using wood from the forest, leftover materials, second hand windows and wood burning stove. It is 11m2 with a terrace on two sides that have sun all day up to 23.30 in midsummer. There is no running water or mains electric but a solar panel provides 12v power for charging devices etc. Water can be heated on the terrace outside using an open fire pan, inside on the wood burning stove or by a small gas camping stove that are provided. There is an outside toilet and stocked wood shed. The kitchen has all cutlery and crockery but is 'back to basics' living. No internet but you can get 3G on a phone etc.

The local tv has also visited the cabin see link below (URL HIDDEN)
There is no road access, parking is 300m away and the walk is very steep, so good shoes and fitness are required.
You will be guided to the tree house as it can be difficult to find or even see until you are almost there. Also help can be provided to gain access to the fishing lake if you wish. There is a clay pigeon thrower on the terrace so a shotgun, cartridges and clays can be provided (at additional cost) and under supervision.
If there are strong winds (over 5m/s) the cabin is safe and moves with the trees but is not recommended to stay as it might be difficult to sleep!
