Our stay at Christine's was fantastic. The description and photos are accurate. Christine answered every question and concern we had very quickly.
Some things about the neighborhood, to show what a gem this is: ** The RER station St Michel-Notre Dame is about a ten minute walk away. It has a stop both for RER B, to CDG, and for RER C to Musee d'Orsay, the Eiffel Tower, and Versailles. That's in addition to the Maubert-Mutualité metro stop across the street. ** A taxi stand is right across a different but adjacent street, if you prefer that. ** In the French way, there are specialty food shops - butcher, baker, fish monger, produce - all within a block. Plus, there's a market on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. There's also the Franprix and Carrefour markets nearby. ** If you like restaurants instead, there's a wide variety, from street food up to Michelin 1-star and Bib Gourmand.
In other words, everything that makes Paris what it is, is practically at your doorstep, with one of the most accommodating Airbnb hosts I've ever had. This is an extraordinary listing.
That said, the elevator is perhaps the smallest I've ever seen. Perfectly functional, but it might take you by surprise. If you're a party of two, you might need to take separate trips with your luggage, but day-to-day you should be fine. The floors are a bit uneven, but this is clearly a Haussmann era building, and I felt that added charm.
All things considered, one of my favorite Airbnb trips to date, and my wife and I hope someday to return.
