My place looks over a beautiful ocean beach, the access is a couple of minutes walk from the house. Your room has views out to Whale Island, which is a protected bird sanctuary, while the living areas look out to Cape Runaway and a local headland called "The Heads" to the east. My house is modern, clean, light and sunny. It is excellent for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. Whakatane is well known for its tours to White Island a live volcano not far offshore.
The room facts north towards the sun, with its own private entrance from the front deck area. It has its own TV and the queen bed has an electric blanket for the cooler nights. A heater is supplied in the room. It has a spacious bathroom with both shower and bath faculties. Internet access is available to all guests. There is off street parking available in the driveway.
You are welcome to use the living areas and decks at the front of the house for breakfast or drinks. Tea and coffee are available and a continental breakfast (toast with spreads or cereal & fruit) is provided. The kitchen isn't available for cooking evening meals. There is an open fire going in the lounge on cold winter evenings.
I work full time so please contact me prior to arriving so I can leave a key for access to your room and facilities. (Ph (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or through Airbnb)
There is ample outdoor parking, if you require indoor parking there is a single space available. I have two friendly cats.

I have been a city dweller most of my life, but recently I sold my home in Auckland City and moved to Coastlands to live by the beach. The idea of sharing my place with others has been inspired by my city friends visiting and falling in love with this awesome place.
I am a single professional lady with a 25 year old son who lives in the South Island of NZ, he is a passionate snowboarder and I am a frequent visitor to Wanaka near Queenstown where he lives. I love visiting Central Otago where he is because it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I have travelled extensively in my younger years, but now I am happiest at home sitting om my deck looking over the water.
My current motto is "When you plan, God laughs". Not that I am particularly religious but I have lived long enough to believe that the only thing we know for sure is that things have a way of changing when least wanted or expected!
