Can there be more than 5 stars? Asja was above and beyond the welcoming host. Her hospitality and generosity go above any expectation I have of an Airbnb. She provided a bottle of local wine, a couple of Karlovackos, a lightly stocked fridge, which is full size, coffee, and beach towels! Great touch. If you were to purposefully select a location to stay in Korcula, Asja's apartment would be it. One block from the Jadrolinija ferry, one block from the grocery store, ATM, bakery and right at the foot of the stone steps to the main gate entrance to the old town. In the evenings I would sit side-saddle on the stone window frame, sipping a glass of wine, watching the parade of beautiful people posing for iconic photos on the steps. The apartment itself is a completely modern remodel with washing machine, dish washer, cookware, shelving in the storage room, great bathroom and it was very spacious for the two of us. Asja also invited us to the moreska dance show, one block away, in which she plays saxophone in the band. If you are in Korcula on a Thursday evening, this is a must see. Asja' family has performed in these productions for 150 years. If you have time, talk to her about Croatian culture and history. A wonderful host, great location, modern and comfortable apartment. Thanks so much Asja!
