This is a great condo for a family of four. We had two kids ages 7 and 10 that shared the room with the twin beds. My husband and I slept in the queen room and the mattress had a thick foam topper that made it very comfortable. We love AMI and the location of this condo can't be beat! It is walkable to everything, and just a block from the Sandbar restaurant. We rented bikes just down the street and rode all over the Island. We love pier fishing at the two local piers, and we saw dolphins, sea turtles, crabs, conch, sand dollars, etc during our stay.
You can see a silver of water from the kitchen, but AMI likes to keep the sea grass high, which blocks most of the ocean view from the lower condo, the upper condo has a great view. We did see a ton of gopher turtles in the sea grass area, and we all loved that!
The decor is basic, but beachy and vintagey which is what I love about AMI. We flew in, so we did not pack much beach gear. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of chairs and umbrellas available. There were even boogie boards and sand toys for the kids. The beach towels at the condo were in sad shape, so I definitely recommend that you bring your own. They also did not have a beach cooler or beach bag at the house.
The house does have air conditioning, but we chose to keep it off most of the time and let the sea breeze in. We found it to be extremely quiet and peaceful at night, which was a little surprising given how close the other homes are. There was another family of four staying above us the same week, and we were never bothered by any noise. There is an outside shower and foot wash to rinse off the sand. The best part was the parking spot- we normally drive in to AMI from my in laws house in Bradenton to go to the beach and parking is always challenging.
I highly recommend this condo if you are looking for a family friendly get away, nothing luxurious, but we are there for the beach and Island fun, and this gives you that in spades!
