Apple Tree Cottage is a charming Cotswold stone cottage, located right in the heart of Winchcombe with country pubs and shops just a stone's throw from the front door. Located on the most photographed street in the ancient Anglo-Saxon town of Winchcombe, and just a few paces from the historic Sudeley Castle. A cherished property which we have decided to share with lucky visitors to the Cotswolds. Due to its location, the property is perfect for romantic getaways or a family break from the city.
Following a full yet sympathetic refurbishment in June 2016, the cottage has plenty of historic charm combined with country chic. Apple Tree Cottage contains 2 double bedrooms (1x kingsize & 1x standard), a brand new upstairs shower room, a newly fitted kitchen and a restyled, cosy sitting room with fully functioning open fireplace, plus wifi throughout the house and a Smart TV.
The cottage is packed full of character features such as original beams and inglenook fireplace, with a relaxed, cosy country atmosphere. The property also boasts a substantial rear garden, which has sun throughout the day – ideal for lazy afternoons and evening barbecues.
The substantial garden space really sets the property apart from its neighbours with one of the largest gardens in Vineyard Street, you can watch the local birds feeding from the boughs of both the apple trees, pick some herbs to accompany your supper or simply enjoy the rose garden. There is a large garden terrace, complete with sofas & chairs for summer lounging, plus a BBQ with complimentary charcoal supplied.
As guests you will have full access to the entire property, including the garden
Having lived in Gloucestershire all of our lives we have an excellent local team of experienced housekeepers, reliable and trustworthy tradesmen and green fingered gardeners, all of whom are in place to ensure you have a hassle free and relaxing holiday. Upon booking we are able to supply a local guide on what to do and where to go locally, based on our local knowledge – so you'll have the inside track on all the best places in Gloucestershire.
Rather unusually for Winchombe, there is street parking right outside the property. Although it is not private, there is always usually a space available and there is a large car park (Abbey Terrace) with free parking for two hours just around the corner – but personally we have yet to have any issues parking outside Vineyard Street. There is additional parking at the end of the street leading up to the castle gatehouse
- Please have consideration for our neighbours as it is such a peaceful part of the Cotswolds
We have lived in Gloucestershire all of my life and absolutely adore the area. I am a dive instructor, so I am often abroad, which gives visitors the chance to stay at Apple Tree Cottage – the perfect home from home
