- We'd like you to feel totally at home whilst also being respectful that this is our family home. Breakages happen, just let us know. Please dont smoke and respect that this is a quiet neighbourhood. Thanks :-)
- The house has three children's bedrooms upstairs. Two are doubles and each double contains two single 'trundle beds'. There is also a small bedroom that has a child's single (used by my ten year old son) along with a quirky 'elves room' (as we call it) - tiny door that leads to a small room (very low ceiling) with various toys and my boy's subbuteo. Alongside this there is one bathroom and this is upstairs. Downstairs is a lounge with TV and DVD player (you can access a myriad of films - including plenty of kids films) plus a kitchen-diner (not the most modern kitchen I'll admit but everything works). There is a downstairs loo and office area, in which sits a piano, which needs a bit of a tune now I come to think of it. Finally there is the main double bedroom downstairs. The highlight of this is the large and brilliantly comfy bed (Tempur mattress)... Should your stay coincide with good weather then our pretty garden is yours to enjoy (replete with trampoline!) and you're free to borrow our bikes. We're currently developing our fruit and veg patches so a possible home grown bounty awaits too (raspberries, salad leaves and various herbs amongst others). Our village is pretty but small and quiet and mainly exists along the one road - I'm afraid not much goes on. But literally a ten minute walk away / one minute drive is the very lovely village of Barrington - with a great pub and the National Trust property, Barrington Court (perfect for tea and cake, lunches etc). Please note that our cottage is set on the village road - it's not hugely busy but do bear in mind that when you open the front door, a car could be heading past. I don't say that because it's noisy or an issue, it's just a safety thing if you have kids (don't just leave the door open if you have toddlers etc!) and also you need to bear this in mind that if you head out for a walk i.e. there's no pavement as you set out. There are some lovely walks to be had however, both straight from the house or if you want to drive further afield and set off from elsewhere.

I'm a food writer, originally from London and the south east. I now live in Somerset with my husband Paul and our menagerie of children. I usually travel for one of three reasons: work; to show the kids the world; or enjoy time out as a couple. I occasionally freelance in travel writing and as such have been fortunate enough to stay in some wonderful hotels. The more I travel however, the more I lean towards a fully authentic experience, and that's where Airbnb comes in. I enjoy cycling, walking, good food (of course), and art.
