My place is close to a bus stop to Downtown, Ballard, Fremont, Light Rail, shopping center, and more.. You’ll love my place because of our West Seattle community.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
Welcome to our West Seattle home. We're a young family that loves to travel, and do so on a budget, so we've been eager to share our daylight basement mother-in-law suite with you on AirBnB. Our housemates have moved on after 5 happy years, so here we are!
During your stay you'll have a fully stocked kitchenette with a coffee bar and a washer/dryer unit. There's a bar that also creates some counter-space if you plan to prepare any meals. The cafe-style table and bar comfortably seat 4 people, and are part of the large open kitchen/dining/living space.
You'll be able to sit on a new love seat and enjoy Century Link television and wifi on the 36" Dell TV with stereo surround sound that also allows easy connection to most laptop computers There's a VGA cable connected and ready to go, but you'll need to bring your own HDMI cable. The love seat pulls out into an twin bed for extra accommodation.
The bathroom is stocked with clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, bathmat, and a hair dryer.
The bedroom has a brand new full-size bed with four large storage drawers built into the frame. The bedroom also has a laundry center for drying and hanging clothes, and an office area if you need a place to sit and do some work away from the TV.
The ceiling has exposed duct work due to this being a basement suite. We purchased the home with the ducts covered but had to expose them in order to convert the space into a bedroom (it gives you more headroom).
Guests will receive a key to the entrance on Othello Street. The bedroom/bathroom also lock for extra security.
Please text me anytime if have any questions or concerns about anything. We live upstairs, so we can normally respond within minutes. You're welcome to just come up and knock on our door as well, as long as you don't mind the dogs barking.
It's our intent to create a comfortable and affordable stay in which you get to share our home and enjoy lots of amenities. We have pets in our home so if you have allergies this may not be the best place for you. Because this is an old Seattle home (1927) it's got creaky floors and sound penetrates them (we also have a 1 year old). We're definitely not loud people (this is a very quiet neighborhood) but if you're noise sensitive you probably won't be as comfortable as we want our guests to be.
Our Sunrise Heights Daylight Basement has been occupied for the last 5 years. Since they moved out we've done contractor renovations (new window and ceiling in the bedroom), and some serious cleaning, painting and updating, but there are still some signs that one of our renters never learned how to iron clothes (you'll see, lol).
This is a place for those travelers looking for private, apartment-style amenities at an affordable price and in a great Seattle-city location. The 21 bus will take you downtown and all the way to Ballard.
There's a coffee shop, two parks, restaurants, convenience market, hair salon, laundromat, and a dry cleaner all within walking distance. It's really a very convenient location, so if you don't mind creaky floors, kids, and pets then we think you'll be happy here.
- Please be gentle on our plumbing as our old house has old touchy pipes. Mainly this means only flush human organic material and toilet paper (please).
- Old single family home with pets and child. There will creaky floors and weird kid/pet sounds.
- Shorter 7' ceilings aren't ideal for taller guests.
