Welcome to Primrose Barn – a Grade II listed traditional brick and flint Norfolk barn.
The cottage is part of a converted farm in the outskirts of Roughton. Originally constructed in 1750, the upside down barn has a wealth of character.
Primrose Barn is adjacent to the National Trust Property of Felbrigg Hall and just 3 miles away from Cromer, its traditional seaside pier and the beach.
The barn is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, furry friends (pets) and families.
Primrose Barn is part of Flaxman's Farm – an award winning complex of six cottages and a farmhouse built in 1750 around an open courtyard – and provides an ideal secluded environment for children and pets.
There's an ample car park, and from there, access to a close-by wood to walk dogs.
Primrose Barn is packed with beautiful features but also very well equipped, so you can feel like home.
You will be welcomed by a spacious hall with a fitted wardrobe and extra storage under the stairs – including a handy washer dryer. On the ground floor you will find two double bedrooms – main bedroom with a king size bed and the second bedroom with two single beds – and a fully equipped bathroom with both shower and a beautiful rolled top bath to relax after a day exploring Norfolk.
The master bedroom is very spacious and comfortable. Make the most of the beautiful brass king-size bed and the generous fitted wardrobe. Or enjoy some television or a film while in bed thanks to the 22" TV and DVD.
The spacious master bedroom also features a reading corner where you can relax reading a book, and a desk in case you need a quiet space to work.
The double-aspect room has access to the patio area through small french doors.
The second bedroom fits comfortably two beautiful single brass & iron beds. The room is decorated to suit both adults or children, and offers a good selection of kid's books and toys to entertain the little ones.
A fitted wardrobe gives enough storage for your stay.
Upstairs you'll enjoy an open plan living area with a vaulted and timbered ceiling. It comprises a wonderful double aspect sitting room with an open fireplace housing a wood burner, a dinning area that hosts up to six people and a well equipped kitchen.
The sitting area features a 32’’ television, free-sat, DVD player and iPod dock. And a selection of board games, books and films for the whole family are available so you can enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the Barn.
The main focal point in the kitchen is the Stanley Range Cooker, which provides hot water, central heating and cooking facilities. Built of cast iron, it is great for baking and roasts. Although it's easy to use, we also provide a separate induction hob for convenience.
The kitchen also features a Belfast sink – and from a practical side – a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, electric toaster, kettle and a blender.
A good selection of cookware, glassware and dinnerware complements our comprehensive kitchen equipment.
Last but not least, Primrose Barn's garden is secluded and reasonably sized (40' wide by 85' long) ideal for children and pets.
The small patio is the ideal place for those Summer breakfasts, and the traditional oak balcony provides an amazing space for those warm evenings.
The garden also offers a working coal barbecue and a fire pit.
