I have been steadily renovating the house since 2013 and am excited to share with you this work of art in progress. I have installed things like a real oak wood flooring in the master bedroom, metal roofing, rain barrel, outdoor shower and outdoor sink, fire ring, etc etc. The location is perfect in a charismatic old Fl neighborhood and nearby downtown, a yoga studio, brewery (BOG), vegan restaurant (Present Moment), shopping are all super close. You'll enjoy my eccentric home!
This historic house (circa 1886), situated in a quiet residential neighborhood, is located within walking distance to historic downtown St Augustine The yard has an organic permaculture design with a diverse food assemblage that you may eat thereof. We hope you will enjoy chilling on our front wrap around porch. You can fish at end of the street and try your luck too!
Guests are provided a private bedroom upstairs.
The kitchen and dining room located downstairs are shared spaces.
There are 2 main entrances into the house, with a key provided.
The kitchen is fully furnished and you may utilize this fully functional space (please keep it clean!). You may also use the washer and dryer. The front porch is perfect for chilling in but if you want to keep warm, I have a fire pit in the back yard.
As I own a 20 acre permaculture homestead/farm inland, I split my time between my home and my farm (Finca Mycol), and infrequently teaching ethnobotany, mycology and ecological restoration. If I am there, I'd be happy to guide you of interesting things to do in the area, so if you give me a heads up and want me to be there, I can try to work my schedule around to be there. Otherwise I can be available when needed or Doug (a co-habitant will be happy to guide if he is there).
Parking is a bit tight on the property. In addition to the drive way, you may park on the road in front of and across from the house. Doug is a kind, renter and is staying in the first room upstairs. A friendly reminder that pets and cigarette smoking are not permitted (however alternative smokes are ok but not in the house).
- We prefer children over the age of 7 as house is not child proof. It is important to clean up after yourself as we dont want to attract any of them FL bugs. Please turn off the lights when not in use; also, please recycle!

Hello friends! I have travelled in the Middle East, Far East, Africa, Central and S. America and each journey has many stories! I love nature and meeting people from different cultures. I also love world music and diversity of foods. I also have a 20 acre organic permaculture farm (Finca Mycol) inland where I do ecological restoration and food forest establishment. I also love art and the caretakers of the house Christiana and Chase are both artists. I have worked as an environmental scientist and irregularly teach ethnobotany and mycology. I also play acoustic stringed instruments (guitar, charango, ukele) and some percussion (djembe, balafon, spoons etc). I hope to share stories with you here at my historic home! I am easy going and will help guide you on your visit here in St Augustine. You can learn of the many food plants in the yard here that you may cook with if you like…mi casa es su casa! We have chives, cuban oregano, moringa, katuk, chaya, mango, pink grapefruit, muscadine grape, pineapples, papaya, rosemary, fig, white sapote, mulberry, avocado, turmeric, and sugar cane all in our quaint yard. We also have a few hens (no roosters) in a coop in the back where you can have a fresh egg or two! Yo hablo espanol mas o menos por un gringo! Please come and stay and enjoy!
