Our gracious, 150 year-old home is one block away from dozens of cafes, bars, restaurants & shops in Melbourne's trendy Chapel Street. Close to trams, trains, just minutes to the City. You’ll love the location; the spacious, comfortable room with bay window, high ceiling, library and round table; TV; tea and coffee; the exclusive access to your own bathroom; our secluded courtyard garden; and your friendly hosts, Helen and Andrew.
Good for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers.
Yours is a front bay window room with high ceiling and a gracious, relaxed atmosphere. It has an openable window and space to sit at the round table surrounded by library shelves or rest on the window seat. There's also a fold-down writing desk, TV, in-room tea and coffee making, bath robes and room to hang your clothes behind the door.
You'll have a key to your own room and a key for front door access. While your room is comfy to stay in, you can also access the kitchen/dining area and the fully enclosed outdoor courtyard garden, with herbs, fruit trees, water feature and relaxed outdoor living and dining. You have exclusive access to your own bathroom, with bath and shower, located near the main living areas. You have access to the kitchen microwave and tea-making. Cooking may be available to longer-term guests by special arrangement.
We're happy to help you or to offer information or advice if we're at home. If we're going to be away from the house, we'll make sure all your queries and needs are covered when we meet you on arrival.
On parle francais - un peu! (We speak French - a bit!)
Kitchen is available for tea/coffee, breakfast, snacks and microwave use. Additional use of the oven and stove etc. is usually only negotiated with long-term guests (8 days or more).
We (Andrew and Helen) are an Australian couple whose kids have now left home, leaving us with a guest bay-window bedroom for your stay in Melbourne close to the city centre. We also enjoy travelling ourselves.
