You’ll love our place because of the neighborhood and the outdoors space. The family house is situated in a cul-de-sac going onto farmlands - lovely walks can be made. The town centre is walking distance where one finds many shops and is close to public transport.
Our place is good for couples and families (with kids).


The Childrens room in not suitable for 2 adults as one of the beds is too soft. We recommend 2 Adults, 2 Children & 1 infant or 3 Adults, 1 small child & 1 infant. There is a crib in the master bedroom.

The house has two bedrooms. One with two single beds suitable for children and one king size bed and an infant cot in the master bedroom. We do NOT accept bookings of 4 adults. Either 2 adults & 2 children OR 3 adults & one small child. Only the amount of people who originally booked to stay are permitted to stay. No extra people.

NB: Check-in time needs to be confirmed (approximately) prior to arrival. Unless prior arrangements have been agreed upon, check-in may not be later 8:30pm. Any late arrivals will need to find alternative accommodation and may only check-in the following day at a dually convenient time.

Great convenient location for trips in the region. We rented this house and used it as a base to visit Gent and Brugge. It was good value for money and never too far to drive back and forth each day.

Nous n'avons pas rencontré directement les propriétaires (qui étaient à l'étranger) mais une dame nous a accueilli gentiment à notre arrivée. Elle nous a fait la visite de la maison et nous a expliqué l'essentiel. La maison de Hilde est située dans une rue paisible, a l'avantage d'être bien située et nous a permis en voiture de faire de nombreuses visites (Bruxelles, Gand, Bruges...) La maison est très vaste et bien lumineuse. La literie est confortable. Il y a 2 chaises enfant (mais pas bébé) et un berceau est disponible. Le jardin avec balançoire et bac à sable permet aux enfant de bien s'amuser. Il est juste dommage que le ménage n'est pas été effectué correctement avant notre arrivée (surtout la salle de bain qui n'était vraiment pas propre). La cuisine mériterait d'être aussi mieux équipée avec un plus de vaisselle (pour ne pas utiliser le lave-vaisselle après chaque repas) et certains ustensiles devraient être changés (très sales ou détériorés comme les poêles par exemple). Ces petits désagréments sont compensés par un prix de la location tout à fait raisonnable et nous gardons un bon souvenir de la Belgique.

A lovely timber framed house with spiral staircase and a view over the Rhine. Very well placed for exploring the upper middle Rhine. Lots to see and do in the local area. Great location.

We did not have any problems in Hilde's house. We were only three days and everything was fine. Children really liked the personal slide in their bedroom. And they were happy in the playground in the yard. We really liked that Hilde left the bicycles with child seats. It was a pleasant surprise for us. Very recommend this house for families with children. Thank you, Hilde.

Our stay started with piping hot water caused by non-functioning thermostat. A leaking shower tab resulted in burned feet while showering. Toilet No1 needed repair the first day, Toilet Nr2 was blocked resulting in 1.5 week waiting before a plumber was found for repair to end bad smell in bathroom. Extra €120 pay for cleaning woman that was not advertised. Heater did function for 1/4 of the house. Last week of our 8 week stay the plumber called for visit to repair thermostat and boiler. Two weeks before leave we were told to use the shower cabin that we were not allowed using before. Still, the main bathroom and kitchen had only cold water. Shower cabin is situated next to bad oil smelling central heater and garbage storage. As owner confirmed himself "Very uncomfortable". Bad maintenance that should have been done before, not during our stay.

The water temperature is referred to on air BnB as being very hot as a note of caution. The Boiler has however been replaced since Floris' departure and set to the factory temperature. The No1 toilet was working perfectly on the day we left the house, which was the same day Floris arrived. The No2 toilet was also working perfectly on the day we left, however it was blocked up by Floris and his party during their stay and he seems to believe that it is our fault. Floris first tried using a fluid to unblock the toilet and then we had to arrange for a plumber to unblock the toilet that he had blocked. Before Floris rented the house, we discussed the that there is a lady that can come every second week to clean the house and it would cost them 40 Euro per time. We did say that we would prefer it if she was used, however, they had the option to say no. Floris agreed to this. We have never had a guest using central heating in summer and all previous guests that have stayed during winter never had any problems. It is more just a case of not knowing how to push the "temp Up" button on the keypad and how to adjust the radiators in the different rooms. The heating works perfectly! Floris was never told that he could not use the downstairs shower, so we do not know what he is referring to when he says that they were not allowed using (URL HIDDEN) is similar to when we offered them bicycles to use when they came to preview the house in person. They then turned down the offer and said that they would bring their own bicycles (AKA Klapfietsen). However, they then complained because the bikes were locked in the shed .......! We honestly do understand that having to shower downstairs in the utility room would have been inconvenient while having to wait for a plumber to come and replace the boiler that feeds both the kitchen and the upstairs shower. There is no preventative maintainace for a blocked toilet unfortunately and the boiler stopped working after two months of living in the house and not before. There was no bad maintainace, only every day challenges that need to be dealt with as they happen in any normal house and if you rent a normal family house for a couple of months you can expect “life” to happen. We live in a normal house that is subject to normal challenges. We never disregarded any of the issues that arose during Floris’ stay and did everything humanly possible to assist in arranging plumbers and getting bicycles out of sheds from 10,000 miles away.
