Enjoy Portland from our urban homestead nestled at the base of Mt. Tabor. Our renovated rooms feature views of our vegetable and flower gardens (see what's in season on Instagram at @hiveofindustry). Cozy up with one of our many books, or hike up to beautiful Mt. Tabor Park for stellar views of the city, Mount Hood, and Mount St. Helens. Walk to Stark Street for fun neighborhood fare, or Uber/bus/walk to many of the city's hip spots.

Your urban garden suite includes a beautiful private space with two lovely bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, and a full-size kitchen. The front and back yards are free for you to use and explore, as well! There are several lovely places to sit throughout the garden.

The living room is furnished with many antique furniture pieces and special items we've collected over the years, including a sizable library of books that we enjoy. It's our pleasure to share these treasured items with you, and we encourage you to read what you’d like during your stay.

Each bedroom has a comfortable bed complete with high-quality pillows, sheets, blankets, and down comforters, as well as fluffy white robes and towels. Like the living room, we've outfitted these rooms with art and antique pieces that we love, and we hope these touches make your stay special and unique. We appreciate you treating everything with relative care.

A newly updated bathroom is conveniently located between both guest rooms. We provide organic bath supplies (shampoo, conditioner, and soap) and more soft towels.

The kitchen is stocked with locally-roasted coffee, high-quality tea, and local beer and wine (for guests over 21). You’ll also have plenty of space in the fridge for your leftovers or food items (check out our list of favorite restaurants in the guidebook), and you’re welcome to do some light food preparation in the kitchen if needed.

Please note: When we're not renting our house on Airbnb, we live here with our cats Gilbert and Basket. If you’re severely allergic to cats, please keep this in mind before booking as we want you to have the most comfortable experience possible.

You will have access to both guest rooms, a bathroom, living room, kitchen, and many nice sitting areas around our yard. The upstairs portion of the house is our private space and remains locked during your stay.

We try to get out often and do things (Oregon's such a lovely place), but if we're around, we're happy to answer questions, provide assistance, or chat about gardening, homesteading, hiking, cooking, and what to do in lovely PDX.

Our little home is a great fit for adults who enjoy a charming cottage-like experience where one can rest and enjoy simple pleasures like reading, conversing, or playing cards (note: we do not have a TV). Unfortunately, because our space is quite small and lacks open areas to play and move, and is also furnished with antique/reclaimed pieces that lack durability and are more easily damaged, we're sadly unable to accommodate any groups with children under 12 years old (even if these children are wonderful and respectful and amazing—which we're sure they are). We apologize for the incovenience and hope that you'll find another lovely place to stay while visiting Portland.

This was our second time staying at this Airbnb and it was just as great as we remembered. Five stars for cleanliness, comfort, privacy, communication, atmosphere/ambiance, convenience, etc. I'm from Portland originally and hope to stay here any time I come back to visit. Thanks again, Evan & Judith!

This might just be the best Airbnb experience I've had yet. Judith was the most thoughtful host in every step in the process (she even hung a happy birthday banner for my sister). Their house was more stunning than the photos could describe and it was such a peaceful place to call home for a few days. Each detail was full of intention and it made it difficult to want to leave the house to explore the city. I can't say enough positive things about our time here! Mighty grateful to have found this spot.

Thanks, Laura! You gals were delightful guests. We're so happy you had a nice stay and that we could help celebrate your sister in our own little way. Come back again anytime!

This place is awesome! Besides the obviously amazing decor, I'm pretty sure this was the cleanest and most welcoming stay we've ever had anywhere. You know the slightly dirty and used feeling you get after sleeping in even the nicest of hotel rooms? That feeling was totally non-existent here. I felt like I was staying in my own home, except with better linens and towels! They also provided so many additional amenities that we probably could have left half of what we packed at home. We met Judith and Evan briefly (they were super nice) while reading in the garden but actually never ran into them in the shared kitchen, so they really do respect your privacy and space. I think you get the idea, but here are a few of my favorite aspects of our stay: huge bookshelf to peruse while in the house, a perfect brown leather reading chair/ottoman, super serene garden with several places to sit in both the front and back, 5-10 minute walk to Mt. Tabor park, extremely quiet neighborhood that does not feel like it's just a few blocks away from 82nd ave. We'll probably try to stay here every time we come back home to visit.

I was in town with a friend to see our buddy get married in Portland, everything about this property was a great experience. The house itself was clean, spacious and fully stocked with everything anyone staying could need for a stay in a new city. The yard and garden were beautiful, we started every day sitting outside drinking coffee and looking up the hill at Mt. Tabor. The hosts were kind and helpful and for staying at the property in the back we almost never saw them. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have a relaxing stay in a nice area of Portland.

We’re Evan and Judith, a husband-and-wife pair who tackles a lot together—we tend a year-round vegetable garden in the city that we cook and eat from, are chipping away at fixing up a little cabin in the forest, and like other people, spend a lot of time at work. As often as poss…
