Enjoy Portland from our urban homestead nestled at the base of Mt. Tabor. Our renovated rooms feature views of our vegetable and flower gardens (see what's in season on Instagram at @hiveofindustry). Cozy up with one of our many books, or hike up to beautiful Mt. Tabor Park for stellar views of the city, Mount Hood, and Mount St. Helens. Walk to Stark Street for fun neighborhood fare, or Uber/bus/walk to many of the city's hip spots.
Your urban garden suite includes a beautiful private space with two lovely bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, and a full-size kitchen. The front and back yards are free for you to use and explore, as well! There are several lovely places to sit throughout the garden.
The living room is furnished with many antique furniture pieces and special items we've collected over the years, including a sizable library of books that we enjoy. It's our pleasure to share these treasured items with you, and we encourage you to read what you’d like during your stay.
Each bedroom has a comfortable bed complete with high-quality pillows, sheets, blankets, and down comforters, as well as fluffy white robes and towels. Like the living room, we've outfitted these rooms with art and antique pieces that we love, and we hope these touches make your stay special and unique. We appreciate you treating everything with relative care.
A newly updated bathroom is conveniently located between both guest rooms. We provide organic bath supplies (shampoo, conditioner, and soap) and more soft towels.
The kitchen is stocked with locally-roasted coffee, high-quality tea, and local beer and wine (for guests over 21). You’ll also have plenty of space in the fridge for your leftovers or food items (check out our list of favorite restaurants in the guidebook), and you’re welcome to do some light food preparation in the kitchen if needed.
Please note: When we're not renting our house on Airbnb, we live here with our cats Gilbert and Basket. If you’re severely allergic to cats, please keep this in mind before booking as we want you to have the most comfortable experience possible.
You will have access to both guest rooms, a bathroom, living room, kitchen, and many nice sitting areas around our yard. The upstairs portion of the house is our private space and remains locked during your stay.
We try to get out often and do things (Oregon's such a lovely place), but if we're around, we're happy to answer questions, provide assistance, or chat about gardening, homesteading, hiking, cooking, and what to do in lovely PDX.
Our little home is a great fit for adults who enjoy a charming cottage-like experience where one can rest and enjoy simple pleasures like reading, conversing, or playing cards (note: we do not have a TV). Unfortunately, because our space is quite small and lacks open areas to play and move, and is also furnished with antique/reclaimed pieces that lack durability and are more easily damaged, we're sadly unable to accommodate any groups with children under 12 years old (even if these children are wonderful and respectful and amazing—which we're sure they are). We apologize for the incovenience and hope that you'll find another lovely place to stay while visiting Portland.
No burning candles or making fires in the fireplace.
No smoking is allowed inside the house, but you may smoke outside if you'd like. Please dispose of cigarettes in a garbage.
Please don't take any books or items off the property.
If possible, please avoid wearing shoes inside to keep the space clean and free of germs.
