My place is 5 minutes from the HK train network and close to taxi access. There are bars, restaurants (many) and shops aplenty. The area is close enough to the Central district, but has kept quite a bit of the local culture if you wanted to explore close by.
The flat is great as a place to chill, and as a spot to reset before heading back out again. The people and the neighborhood are great. Couples, solo adventurers, business travelers and those just passing through are all welcome.
I came to Hong Kong in 2010. I teach English at a school in Sheung Wan, near to central and close to where I live. I travel back to Europe every year to catch up with family, but have done a fair bit of travelling around Asia as well. Outside of Airbnb, my place has served as the pit stop for most people I know looking to add HK to their 'Places I've been' list.
I paint when I can find the time, and read a lot! I've a pretty decent kitchen area in my place, so I've taken to cooking since moving in - but only desserts.
Having used Airbnb before when I went to NY, I saw what a good host can add to a holiday. But, as with any trip, you kind of want to do things for yourself. So I work to a 'there if you need me, not there if you don't' sort of system, which people seem to like.
