I was completely surprised and disappointed to receive your review as you mentioned nothing about these issues during your stay.
If you are a regular user of Airbnb as you suggest (though you have no reviews of any of your previous stays, which seems strange), you would know that you need to alert us to any issues within 24 hours to give us a chance to remedy them. It's so disappointing you didn't enjoy your stay but this was so unnecessary and totally avoidable...
I do suspect the fact that your child was sick was something to do with this. To accommodate this, we let you change your booking by 2 days at the last minute without any extra charges but you don't mention this in your review. Regarding the points you make:
- Extra dishcloths we could have provided immediately - why didn't you ask? our assistant Stephane is on site all day as he told you.
- Red ants - of course this sounds problematic and so we would have sent someone immediately to deal with this. Unfortunately, having been updated by Stephane about the shockingly filthy state you left the apartment in, I'm not surprised this attracted bugs. In Thailand, leaving food spilt all over the furniture and crumbs in the bed is known to be a bad idea as it will likely attract bugs. The way you left the apartment was as though you purposely intended to mess it up as much as you could and then left hours before you told Stephane you were due to go to ensure he would not see you at check-out as planned.
As an Airbnb guest, you are expected to keep the apartment as you would your own home. I suspect/hope you don't live like this at home.
- TV: It is not stated that we provide a smart TV anywhere on our listing. We paid for a HDMI cable when you asked to help you enjoy staying in and watching TV with your kids.
- General amenities. We have never had this complaint. All guests comment on how well kitted-out our apartment is. Our assistant even went to buy you a rice cooker as apparently the high spec oven/hob and microwave weren't enough for your cooking needs. Most Airbnb do not provide such dedicated on-the-ground support during a stay.
From now on I will be much stricter in accepting guests without any prior reviews. I am also notifying Airbnb of the inaccuracy of your review. You are entitled to leave a public review however you are required to tell the truth, therefore I want to avoid other trusted hosts having the same experience as I have in hosting you.
