Back Forty Casita/Separate Guest House. Very private, completely stocked with more than just basics; 1000 SF+/- ; 1 Bedroom; 1.5 Bathrooms; Sleeps 4; 180 degrees+ panoramic views; large heated spa.


The Back Forty Casita was completed in February 2016. Formally an artist studio – the conversion included adding everything new - down to the last kitchen towel. 1,000 SF free standing guest house decorated in the style Arizona casual/rustic/luxury. Located at the back of our ¾ Acre lot with 180 degree+ panoramic views of McDowell, Mazatal and Four Peaks mountain ranges. Incredible sunsets and sunrises – cozy, comfortable and all the privacy you wish. 1 bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms, queen fold out for guests and 8 person hot tub. Vaulted ceilings, open concept great room-kitchen-dining area and a large master ensuite plus separate powder room.
Complete with washer/dryer, stainless steel appliances including dishwasher, gas cooktop, built-in microwave, convection oven, french door refrigerator, coffee maker, and almost anything a gourmet chef would want in a kitchen – but remember you are on vacation – so we included a gas BBQ Grill to get you out of the kitchen. But in case you do choose to cook you will find spices, sugar, flours as well as coffees, teas, sweeteners and creamers. Large windows located over the sink will have everyone in your party begging to do dishes. LOL.
The Great Room has a 55” flat screen TV w/Amazon Prime access to movies and games and a streaming media box that can access almost any movie or tv show, including news and your favorite sports games. Leather sectional folds out to a queen size bed for your guests. Master bedroom has a California King Sleep Number bed, custom dual closets, large linen closet, tall dresser, flat screen TV.
The ensuite bath has a huge walk-in shower with shower jets, custom dual vanity and a very special private patio off bathroom for western sunset views. Stacked washer/dryer to keep you ahead of your laundry. Firepit and gas BBQ for enjoying our great evenings. Plenty of fun games in the storage drawers. MORE MORE MORE.
We are located close to several award winning golf courses; walking distance to shopping, churches, the Fountain Hills Public Library and Activities Center and of course the Fountain! Hike over the ridge to the fountain with us. Bring your dog – we are and the town is dog friendly.
Its fun to watch the families of quail in the morning as you sip your coffee. You might even catch the javelina as they scamper down the back of the main house for a quick drink from the bird bath or the coyotes who escape the heat in the washes behind the guest house.


You will be greeted upon your arrival and given a tour of the property as well as introduced to our two terriers who keep the wild animals at bay (just kidding) but this IS the wild wild west. Casita's front door has keyless entry and you will be given a private code just for you. Parking is off the street on the side of the main house. Walkway to the property is well-lit via the back side of the house.


Both Jim and I are retired and available to help, answer questions and you will always be invited to our almost nightly celebration to watch the sunset by our huge boulder firepit and swap stories and adventures.. Happy hour includes wine and munchies. Jim is a golf enthusiast if you need input on where the best places to play are. I have Celiac/Gluten Intolerance so if you need suggestions on where to eat, etc., just ask.


Additional Fees may not be included in your AirBNB Booking and will be paid to Homeowner 7 days prior to Check in unless other arrangements are made in advance of Booking. 1. Local & State occupancy taxes are 13.87% . 2. Call or email for Pet approval and any additional fees prior to acceptance. 3. Cleaning Fee is $150.00 with partial refund if guests completes Check Out Procedure (supplied at Check In). 4. Incidental Fee Of $300.00 to cover incidental charges i.e. movie rentals, online game fees, etc. Any remaining balances will be refunded to Guest within 14 days of checkout.

This is a great place to stay. It has everything you need. It is a nice quiet place with beautiful scenery and high-end amenities. We definitely would stay here again.

My husband and I are retired (well he is - me only partially). I am a licensed Realtor in AZ. This is our personal property. We have lived in Fountain Hills for 7 years and Arizona for almost 20 years. My husband, Jim, is a golf enthusiast and can help with anything related. We have 2 small terriers that may bark to warn you are coming, but are friendly and sociable with other pets. We love our property and look forward to sharing it with you.

Why This property?
We bought this property in 2010 because of the view and turned the main house into a cozy ranch style home. The casita had to wait till 2015 for us to pull together our resources and start the renovation. It was our vision to turn it into a guest house for family and friends so they could enjoy our view of Arizona's best sunsets when they come out to play golf and sightsee. The Back Forty was a kitschy name from my midwest days growing up. 3/4 Acre is far from a 'back forty' but you'll get the idea when you stay with us. Come enjoy our weather, our views, our hospitality. Be a part of the family or have a quiet private stay. You are welcome anytime. We are close to award winning golf courses, state and natl.parks, hiking, biking, 20 minutes to Sky Harbor airport, art and culture.
