Wild and serene, this 5 bedroom house rests on a hillside adjacent to a 50 acre wildlife haven. Nestled in a forest near the scenic and historic Brandywine Valley, this retreat affords travelers with all the luxury accoutrements of a mountain lodge, yet is conveniently located within 35 minutes of Philadelphia.
Relax whilst catching rays on the deck or strolling through the wooded landscape. You may see a red fox, the two red-tailed hawks or an occasional bald eagle... and a herd of deer!
From the professional chef's kitchen to the outdoor spa, luxury will be your companion at the Lodge. Enjoy your meals at the dining table, al fresco on the deck or screened porch, or quietly in your private bedroom.
For entertainment, there are many options:
...The Lounge has an antique pool table, a fireplace and many classic board games to while away the time.
...The Library is full of antique and contemporary books, many of which are focused on the US Civil War and other topics of American History.
...The Game Room has an air hockey table, the requisite xBox One for the kids (or kids at heart) and many chess boards and classic board games.
To relax, the outdoor jacuzzi will melt away your stress. A large outdoor deck allows for sunbathing and evening conversations around the gas fire pit. Take a walk through the woods and commune with nature, where wildlife abounds including red foxes, red-tailed hawks, groundhogs, white tailed deer, an occasional bald eagle and many other varieties of beautiful and interesting songbirds and woodpeckers.

I am a semi-retired marketing executive, who after many years of business travel and a fast-paced career, is seeking a calmer, more tranquil lifestyle. My passions include fine wine and beer, antiques and vintage furniture, gardening and the enjoying the great outdoors. I also enjoy golf and bow hunting, and in the past have been rock climbing, skiing on several continents.
I have previously lived in Amsterdam, Puerto Rico, LA, San Francisco, Bend and NYC. My favorite city to visit is Prague, while my favorite nature spot is Yosemite. I attended a royal wedding in Cuernavaca, Mexico... ask me about it.
I enjoy conversation about almost anything, and enjoy the company of just about anyone. I am told that I have a voice that should be on radio... so I may look into that for a future pursuit.
