An oasis from the hustle and bustle of metro Manila. Located in Mandaluyong along the Pasig River next to the Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge so Makati is just right there. My time there allowed me to work online due to the more than adequate internet wifi speeds and the peace and quiet it afforded me despite the construction on the next tower. The place is very new and so the place is still very much clean versus what you would get at other developments such as Lights, Jazz, or Grass, where your typical Asian pest, the dreaded ipis, wander freely amongst the residents. Not at this place where Acqua's pest control program is very stringent. The owner, Mai, is very nice (though we did not meet in person) and very prompt in messaging and there were never really any problems but just knowing that she was just a message away soothed any worries if they were to come up. The caretaker, Arlene, was such a sweet lady. Always prompt with a pleasant attitude that you couldn't help but tip her in appreciation of her efforts. The space, itself, was nicely equipped and furnished with new items, unlike most airbnb units that have hand-me-down furnishings that the owner didn't want anymore. Uncluttered with unnecessary items and that's how it should be. All the dishes and eating/cooking utensils were new and in fact, some of the glassware still had price tags on them. No expense was spared to make this a nice place. It is equipped with a television and my only wish was that the cable package was better as I didn't want to watch fake news from CNN, Coocan infomercials, etc. But the unit is equipped with Netflix and YouTube and so that was a bonus. As the development is quite new and still under construction, its amenities were still not available for use such as the fitness center, the pool, etc. But the Pasig River is just right there so feel free to take a dip. LOL. In regards to transportation, it is best to rely on Grab and Uber as it is hard to try to have the guards flag down a taxi for you. Just offer a small tip in addition to the fare, and the Grab/Uber drivers will fight over you. There is a laundry place right out side the gate and some small mom-n-pop eateries but you can cook at the unit if you'd like. Or just order online with Pizza Hut, Jollibee, or even through Food Panda. Overall, a great place to stay. Although, once tenants start moving in, the place will get busier which I dread. During my stay, it was only me and 2 other units on the floor that were occupied so there was a lot of peace and quiet. I would highly recommend Mai's place for anyone who wants to have a place they can relax and get away from the city grind.
