Adorable two-bedroom cottage in quiet neighborhood in Oak Creek Canyon, minutes from downtown Sedona. Canyon Cottage is a 1960s bungalow located in lower Oak Creek Canyon, one mile south of Slide Rock State Park on highway 89A and 5 miles north of downtown Sedona. Because it is located in a lightly forested section of Oak Creek Canyon at 5000 feet in elevation, the cottage is a wonderfully warm and sunny spot to spend the winter, or a shady, cool spot to beat the heat in the summer. The cottage is furnished with a queen bed, a full bed and a full-sized futon. The cozy living room has a rocking chair in which you can sit back and enjoy a view of the red rocks that surround the cottage. There is also a small, but fully-equipped kitchen, a bright and sunny dining area, and a back deck where you can sit and watch the hummingbirds; other amenities include laundry and a BBQ grill. The garden is filled with fragrant flowers in the spring and summer and offers a variety of fruit bearing trees in the fall.
You will have access to the entire 740 square foot 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath cottage with a large deck.
If you would like us to, we will meet you, show you around the cottage, and give you advice on what to do in the area.
Internet in the cottage is provided by Hughes Satellite, which provides up to 25 Mbps download speed. However, satellite service can become spotty if there are rain or snow storms.
Pets allowed with an additional fee.
I am a college professor and I live and teach biology in Flagstaff, Arizona. If you search online for my first name plus my last name (Gibb) then you will quickly find my academic website to see the kind of work I do (FYI, I am not the supermodel with the same name).
My husband and I have been married for over twenty years and we have two bookish middle-school-aged boys. We all enjoy reading, gardening, cooking, hiking, kayaking, camping and traveling. Because we live in a quiet mountain town, our favorite places to visit tend to be either big cities or beaches. We spend as much of our vacation time on the Big Island of Hawaii as possible!
