Hurricane Flats Farm (organic 40-acre vegetable farm), 1 mile from VT Law School. The 3-story apartment with tons of room and gorgeous views of the White River valley is attached to our 1780's farmhouse, where we live full-time. Farm fresh eggs, cut flowers, and Lake Champlain chocolates are some of the welcome gifts we love to provide for our guests. We are walking distance from the best little co-op in Vermont; Worthy Burger and 5 Olde Tavern & Grille are just a couple of local eateries.
The house has three floors. Main floor has full kitchen, dining area, living room, and half-bath. Top floor has two bedrooms and bathroom. Ground floor is a fully carpeted room with extra sleeping (one futon and full size air bed) and TV + wii.
We live in the attached farmhouse. This is a working vegetable farm and so we're here all the time!
Our guests have full access to the property, including the porch, barn, fields, and river. Bring your canoe or kayak and take a paddle...we can tell you the best stretches and where to put in and pull out. There are tubing groups in the area if you prefer that. We know all the local swimming spots so just ask!
We will always be available, either in person or by phone, to answer questions or offer advice. We know lots of great hikes and other things to do in the area...even if you want to go farther afield! Hiking in the White Mountains? No problem, we've done tons of hiking there. Trip to Boston for the day? We used to live there (and one of us even worked for the National Park Service, giving historical tours on the Freedom Trail) so can offer lots of suggestions. We are also good at leaving people alone if you want privacy.
Absolutely no smoking anywhere on our property. We like a good party! But we also like to sleep, so you will need to remember that we live right next door...
