Kick the sand off your feet and relax in this charming Seaside cottage in the quiet Cove neighborhood away from the hubbub of downtown. Three blocks from the Promenade and beach, it's perfect for writers, artists, and peace-seekers. The cottage boasts modern comforts with a genuine midcentury feel. The space is open yet cozy, the bedrooms are comfortable and simple, and the kitchen is well-stocked for your beach getaway feasts. Enjoy happy hour at the picnic table on the front lawn!
The cottage is a sweet, surprisingly open abode with an intentional combination of the original mid-century feel and the comforts you just want to have on a retreat at the beach. With 2 bedrooms (one king size bed, one queen size bed) that each boast big and bright windows to the spacious back yard and south morning sun, you will wake and sleep in comfort. You can enjoy the well-stocked kitchen prepared for meal making and coffee/tea drinking. The living space provides options for relaxation with two extremely comfy couches, a wood-burning fireplace, and Smart TV (if you so desire).
You have access to the whole house save the garage.
We will make ourselves available by phone. We hope for the space to be restful and private for our guests' enjoyment, so we will limit our interaction based upon specific needs our guests may have along the way. If you need to reach us, do not hesitate to call any time—night or day.
The fireplace is off limits for the summer months!
We love our cottage and love to share the warmth of our space--and we also love our neighbors. You are expected to abide by city-established quiet times (between the hours of 10pm-8am). No smoking inside or out (within 25 feet of home entrances, including under the carport...go for a walk bay the beach if you must have a smoke). And although we parent an elderly hypoallergenic dog we ask that you leave your four-legged creatures behind. With this said, we also ask that you not bring your children as this space is meant to be utilized by a single adult or couple, and should not be occupied by more than two people (or the agreed upon guest list) at all times. Please also note the specific guidelines for sorting trash, recycle, and glass items!
We are both passionate about our work and presence in this world and this includes within our playful lives--in which we dwell most of the time--and our professional lives (Deb is a Psychotherapist with a private practice studio in the historic neighborhood of Ballard and Anya works in an outpatient psychiatry clinic overseeing a partial hospitalization program for mental health). Deb is most alive when she is writing and playing her own music and she has just completed her fourth album; she often jokes that being a therapist is her new bartending gig. Anya gets a hoot out of woodworking. We are smitten with our four-legged child, Celti Sue, the Chinese Crested. We are currently splitting our time between communities that we love in Seattle, WA, and Seaside, OR, and imagine that one day (perhaps in the distant future) we will live full-time on the Oregon Coast, which is the happy medium between Anya's CA history and Deb's Canadian heritage.
