This Colonial style property is 4 km from Hinjewadi. Its a family-friendly, green, peaceful, organic farm, with plenty of tree cover. My husband and I are avid birdwatchers, and stay here through the year. I am a published children's author. We'd love to meet like minded guests and host creative people.
Our small dairy on the farm usually has a couple of calves on site, and several milking Gir cows, and Holstein-Fresian crosses too.
On request, we can organize a barbecue outside your cottage.
Each Cottage @ R.4750/-, has two double bedrooms, bathrooms attached. I've decorated them in simple Colonial style. A sitting/dining room and kitchenette provide guests with everything they need for a comfy stay. Raw materials like tea/coffee/milk and sugar are provided, and you can use the gas stove to heat your food or make baby food or endless cups of tea/coffee. No cooking allowed. A large veranda is hugely popular early mornings and evenings. There are two tree houses, a large ground for a game or two, and an indigenous herb/shrub and tree nursery, with many ayurvedic plants. Early mornings are ideal for some simple bird watching and walks around the property.
Guests are free to walk anywhere on the farm, but are advised to stick to the regular paths.
No swimming allowed. No pets allowed.
No Stag parties.
5 persons max in each cottage. No deals!!
Cottages are self -help as we have a shortage of staff.
No Drivers room/ bed available.
We recommend that our guests have their own transport.
A list of cafes/ restaurants close by is provided on request.
We stay on the property and love interactions with our guests except when busy with farm work.
First evening we welcome our guests to join us for a short time in our own home, which is a minute away from the cottages. If you'd rather not, that's fine too.
Its walking distance from LIFE REPUBLIC Township, where simple groceries are available. Those who have their own transport can eat out at Hinjewadi, 4 Km away, but we do provide you the option of lunch and dinner from our own kitchen. Fridge available. No TV!
ELECTRICITY is a problem, we do have invertors, which if used judiciously will suffice. So also, our water supply.
Partying is not allowed. We value our peace!
Other than tea/coffee/ heating food, cooking full scale meals is not permitted.
Our dogs are not too friendly, and we advise guests to ring the gate bells if they want to speak to us before they enter our garden gate.
Guests must wash and put away everything they use.
Litter bins are provided for separation of all litter. This is a must!
Pets not allowed.
We live on our 10 acre farm on Pune's outskirts, and I am an author for Young Adults, with 2 books published by Penguin. My husband and I conducted Nature and Environment camps for kids 7 -13, for 16 years, and are now retired and spend most of our time writing/ overseeing farm work/ travelling. We love the outdoors, and enjoy nature on our farm, particularly birds, some 125 of them, some migratory, some resident. We try to live eco-friendly, live simply, using less plastics, sending most disused material for recycling as far as possible.
