I love living at the beach! I have only been living here for the past 6 months, but have been visiting the Long Beach Peninsula for many years. I've been forever beach-bound my entire life, I think!
From my home there is a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean... complete with glorious, inspiring sunsets. This month has been particularly beautiful at night, with the full moon overlooking the lights from the fishing boats. Impossible to capture with a photo! 4 other things I can't live without? Reading good books about interesting people (especially artists,) walking on the beach, great conversation with old friends and new and cooking dinner with 'wine!'
I have a passion for helping the homeless. 'Backpacks & Knapsacks' fills bags with toiletries, gloves & hats, tools for the road, tarps, food and much more! I have been distributing these in the Portland area for the past few years and now do so here at the coast. Thankfully, we have far fewer homeless and many more organizations to help folks here.
I have not been much of a traveler in the past 10 years, but my favorite mode of traveling in the past was cruising! Love the feeling of being a ship! Perhaps I will go again some day. I get excited when I see the ships dock in Astoria.
Do I have a life motto? Yes.... LOVE!
