The double glazed windows and heat-pump ensure a cosy atmosphere and a perfect winter getaway, you are warm and ready to relax, ideal for couples.
The sunny front deck is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy peace and quiet with a glass of wine while watching the sunset behind the pine trees.
DVDs, CDs, books, tea, coffee and sugar are all provided for our guests. We love to share our cottage with other like-minded people who feel privileged to enjoy our beautiful country.
Ideal for a private weekend getaway, a romantic retreat, or a stop-over destination prior to catching the ferry to the South Island or if you are coming from South Island and heading north. Also ideal for those wanting to bike and swim. Waikawa Beach is only a 5 minute drive away, great for a sunset walk. For any folk who are super fit and enjoy hiking, it is possible to climb Mt Hector (1500 m). It should take around 5-6 hours of strenuous walking to reach the summit and the descent can take another 4 hours or so. It is a 35-min drive to the start of the walk.
The Levin Aquatic Centre is situated in the beautiful Gladys Taylor Park surrounded by palm trees, just opposite Levin’s Skate Park. The fantastic facility includes three indoor pools. The Levin Adventure Park is 5 minutes drive.
Owlcatraz Native Bird and Wildlife park is in the small town of Shannon, only 20 minutes drive where you will find a number of interesting shops and a couple of cafes.
The Southward Car Museum is 25 minutes drive. Highly recommended if you are a classic cars enthusiast like me.
The golf course is only a short drive away.
Otaki factory outlet shops and plenty of cafes are only 10 minutes drive from the cottage.
Nearby cafés and restaurants and a good range of take-away outlets. Try the Star of India on Oxford Street, Levin.
Drive to Waikanae Rail Station, park your car for free and hop on the train to Wellington.

NO PETS IN THE COTTAGE AND ON THE PROPERTY.
We live nearby with our two dogs, Pongo and Vanessa. Pongo is an Australian Kelpie we rescued him from HUHA in Otaki. Vanessa was rescued 20 minutes before she was to be put to sleep, she is lovely.
I am a classic car enthusiast, so if you are one, please come over and we can have a chat over a drink.
The cottage must be vacated by 11:00am and left in the same condition as found.
Linen and towels are provided at no charge but if you need large bath towels, could you please bring your own.
Please leave all used towels in the bath and all bedding left on the bed.
Please kindly do not park on the grass.
